Some help please!
OH and I go to New York for the first time in December for our honeymoon - we are staying for 6 night. We have our hotel (in Chelsea), plane tickets and transfer sorted.
We have read some guide books but wants a mix of touristy/real New York New York. OH is an ice/roller hockey player and we have bought tickets to see New York Rangers one night, we'd also like to take in a show at some point.
I'm quite taken by the River Cafe Views but OH does not own a "jacket" so with the $$$ menu and buying a jacket, can another recommend a restaurant in Brooklyn, near the river that will give us a dramatic evening view of NY without the $$.
I'm a cake decorator so would like to visit a fantastic bakery, other than Magnoliafor a truely New York Cupcake!
Can anyone advise re the horse carriage tour of Central Park (touristy I know) but also romantic lol - are the horses treated well and how much are these?
Is a New York Pass worth it?
Please could you recommend some restaurants for cosy dinners, good entertainment (Jazz club?). Which Show? We don't mind going off the beaten track!
Also as it's Xmas - any good Christmas Shops? We;d like to buy a Xmas New York snow globe and a tree bauble to hang as a momento from our honeymoon!
Oh and good toy store:o

The way it's written I'm assuming it's a dinner jacket, not just any old jacket - if it is, he was planning on wearing a shirt, smart trousers/jeans and boots. Having justre-lookedatthewebste, we don't need a jacket for the terrace room:rolleyes:
thanks for the link, will check it out!:T

The horse rides are somewhat of a no no due to the ill treatment of the horses and they are expensive too, personally I find it easier and you see more on foot, sure it takes more time but what the hellIs a New York Pass worth it?

Well I've done it
Just booked the Park Central hotel for 4 nights from 6 Jan. I've been looking for a while but couldn't find any direct flights from Edinburgh for a decent price. Checked on the off chance tonight and there was direct flights with Continental.
So much to think about now! Its a surprise for OH's birthday so need to get all excited on my own!!
Now you can all tell me how cold it is going to be in January. Anyone been in January?
Aargggghh can't believe I've booked it!:T0 -
