As soon as its rains in NY you will find the place is flooded, pardon the pun, with people selling umbrellas, last trip they were going for $5 so personally I wouldnt bother packing one just buy it if you need it
We had a tiny bit of rain on the last day, and the missus was astounded at the amount of umbrella sellers that came out of the woodwork! :D
  • Has anyone done a helicopter ride over Manhattan? If so which company would you recommend (and yes I have done a heli ride before so know what I'm letting myself in for!)
  • Oh and one more thing - where's a good place to buy cheap (but not knock-off) DVD's?

There aren't the deals that there used to be on DVDs in the states it seems. The only places we found DVDs in New York were Best Buy & Borders, we have the same problem in Orlando thought we found a shop called FYE down here that do DVDs etc (a bit like our HMV) but the prices didn't seem that great.

I've never found anywhere that's a lot cheaper than the UK, of course it was a tad cheaper when the $ was 2 to 1 but alas no more.

Also remember the vast majority of dvds will be region 1, which unless you have a region free dvd player they wont play properly
