You may as well buy em over here, i've only ever seen one shop in manhattan which done them and that was a hallmark shop just outside times square, and they were no cheaper and no different to the ones you get in the UK, and add to that the fact the jar ones weigh quite a bit and eat into your baggage allowance.
Ahh I know where there is a hallmark near our hotel last year thanks.
Well my mum likes the candles but i get the air freshers for my car. They were only about $4 for a 3 pack and they are double the price over here so i'll get some of them in NY.

  • The Rockefeller Christmas Tree has been delivered and is up:j

It wont be lit until the 2nd December however anyone traveling before then ( myself included) will still be able to see it now.

Found some good pictures from the website below:

Does anyone know where I can get yankee candle from please??? Dont think they have a store in the city.

    thanks

I don't know if you're planning to go to Woodbury Common while you were in NY but there is a Yankee Candle store there and the prices are great.
  • Hi kk22, I went Woodbury common on my last visit to NY and got all my yankee candle from there but It didnt really have many shops we wanted so wont be going back again this time.
Thanks to phatbear found out that hallmark have them however they dont accept yankee candles coupons which they keep sending me, buy 2 get 2 free is on at the moment so thats a real shame.

  • When is the best time to book?
Hope this is in the right place...4 of us are looking to go to New York 2nd Dec 2010. Now it only seems Virgin Holidays have released prices for then and for all of us to stay in one room at the Crown Plaza Times Square were looking at £515 each for the 3 nights with return Virgin flights.
My question is - would you book this (yes we do want to be in Times Sq!) or would you hold out for the magic 11 months before and try and peice together a flight and hotel seperatley?
Also does anyone know when the other tour operators such as thomson and thomas cook be releasing their new york packages?

    and you live where ?
crown isnt the best hotel but a good central location £515 isnt too expensive in december and who knows where the economy will be in 13 months time if your happy with the price book it you wont get much better deals from tour operators remember if its 4 people paying seperate its over £500 each if its your family & kids it a £2k break for 3 nights IYKWIM. May do slightly better in jan/feb but could gain on flight prices and lose on hotel prices by then or to the summer (Pay by credit card)
PS magic 11 months i think is over now IMO i look to 6 months to get best deal for my summer holidays

Anyone know of any kid-friendly free-breakfast centrally sited hotels (oh, and with internet in room).....
we want to do all the touristy things, but would also like a hotel is within easy walking distance of restaurants, deli's etc. Was just going to book via Expedia, is that a good idea too?

I'm sorry if this has been asked a million times before...I have searched, and know it's better to stay away from Times Sq (I wouldn't stay at Leicester Sq in London), and I'm not afraid of the subway.....it's just my daughter will be tired at night, so would like somewhere that we could just 'pop out to' before bedtime, you know the thing.....

    Thanks
