Penn Station too. Although if you are a girlie go to the second bank of cubicles, they are much cleaner.0

Can I also add Wendy's to the list. It was awful, had to go Starbucks instead.New York ♥..........These street will make you feel brand new, Big lights will inspire you.

Does anyone know the average time or long it takes to get to JFK from midtown in peak time traffic?
Got the SuperShuttle last time so left the city very early however this time getting a cab. My return flight its 9.10pm, do you think 6pm would give me enough time to get to JFK ( without panicing) my mum is such a worrier and will freak out if she thinks we will miss our flight. thanksNew York ♥..........These street will make you feel brand new, Big lights will inspire you.

Can I just say I never found it a problem. Although I did find all American toilets slightly alarming, their plumbing is different to ours so the water level is always much higher in the bowl than we have it, it looked like ours does when DS3 has blocked it (sorry if that is TMI ...)Kenny_Powers wrote: »Can't belive this thread has become "where to take a pi$$ in NYC"
Also their cubicle doors never felt as secure as they do over here. Either no overlap between door and frame, or saloon bar louvre style ...
But clean and functional and plentiful ...Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
Whilst we're on the subject, when flushing a loo in NY, does the water go clockwise or anti-clockwise? :whistle:0

Possibly because some of your answers and advice can be very curt.*sighs* only 5 people like this thread...
Don't get me wrong, we're all grateful and i 'liked' the thread myself (so that's at least 8
) but telling people they are wrong and stupid all the time, and snapping at people that are asking a question that you answered 50 pages ago doesn't help. 0 -

Yes, you're right. Asking the same questions over and over again doesn't get boring, and we should answer it like it's the first time it's been asked.
There is a search on this thread for a reason. The title of the thread says to search.
Also, I'd love to know where i've actually called someone "wrong and stupid", I know I voice my opinion and i have a difference of opinion with some people, but I don't think I've ever called anyone "wrong and stupid"
Tell you what, you can take over, HGLT is right and i've had enough of this.

No need to leap to the offensive. This thread is a public thread on a public forum, so it's everyone's business.Kenny_Powers wrote: »Why dont you mind your business!!
No point in over the top dramatics. If you want to start and run a thread to help people, then help them. If you don't want to, don't.Yes, you're right. Asking the same questions over and over again doesn't get boring, and we should answer it like it's the first time it's been asked.

It's a time old forum problem: People aren't going to read through a 146 page thread to ask a simple question. I understand it can be frustrating but it's all part of it.
Of course you've not called anyone stupid, but the sarcasm and demeaning comments are there. My first comment here was "i'm a bit worried about doing X". Your immediate answer was "If you call it X you should be worried!". Very helpful, and it really encouraged me to ask questions.
Please keep the thread going, but remember the advice given on page 4 of this thread: Please be nice to all moneysavers. We're total newcomers to NYC, and some to the USA altogether and many no nothing at all.0 -
Sorry, i always find it really hard to 'get' humour and stuff in text!

And there's me leaping to the defensive!0 -
Thanks, I thought it was about an hour but ive just been reading a review of my hotel and a new one said it taken then 2 1/2 hours to get to JFK so had me a bit concerned.Kenny_Powers wrote: »It takes about half hour, to drive usually.
In rush hour id give it at least an hour - Also dont forget the stupid, ridiculous down right scandalous tolls.
Think i'll leave at 6pm or just before for my 9.50pm flight. Should be plenty of time.New York ♥..........These street will make you feel brand new, Big lights will inspire you.
