    Hi guys,

Just a quick heads up on a link for some cheap Knicks tickets. It's for games in November and December, $20 a ticket.

    Hi All

I am off to New York on the 23rd with the family for 7 nights, I have been trying to buy some Rangers tickets via Ticket Exchange and it keeps failing I think it maybe that the website does not recognise UK addresses. Any ideas where I can get cheap tickets from? Or any other sporting events in NY that week.

    Thanks in advance

    Andy
  • What an amazing place. I absolutely loved it and can't wait till I get to go back. 3 Days is def not long enough. I spent loads and hardly saw much of the city so it gives me an excuse to go back so I can see the rest of it.
What a great way and place to spend my 30th birthday :j

Hows it looking on the seating plan? does it look like more seats are taken this week? They must have sold some tickets, they will have so many tickets at each price dependant on sale of tickets. e.g if only 20 left prices much higher so only thing i can think of it that its sold all the ones at that price and so now theres less seats have to pay more?

  • We are going on Friday morning, so just getting last few things sorted i have a couple of questions.
Is it a good idea to make copys of our passport etc before we go?
Should i inform our bank of our trip so they can flag our cards for use in the usa?

    counting the sleeps now:)

    thanks in advance.

Yes I would definatly take photocopys of your passports. I know i'll be taking my passport out with me when i go to bars/macys for discount etc so i will be keeping a photocopy in the safe.

You can inform the bank of you going away, no harm and piece of mind for you.

Have a great time and done forget to give us a report on your trip on your return :T

  • I'd love to take my boyfriend to new york as a surprise for his 30th birthday next year. before i get too excited and start making plans, i want to check if my savings are sufficient. if not, then i'll look at somewhere closer to home instead.

i know budget questions are very much like asking 'how long is a piece of string'. I guess what i really want to know is whether its possible to get to new york and do all the tourist trap stuff on my budget. I have £1300 saved for flights and hotel, and will be able to get around £1k by the time we come to go.

    I'd like:
    * direct flights from bristol, gatwick or heathrow,
*stay for 3-5 nights (budget allowing)
*at least a 3* hotel. I'd prefer to stay near the action, but if staying futher out and travelling in means the difference between going or not then i am prepared to compromise.
    * travelling the week after easter or 1st week of june (im a teacher so dates are non negotiable).

is it do-able, or is it just a pipedream?

if it is feasable, am i likely to get better value for money booking flights and hotels separately, or booking a package?

I know that there is a wealth of info on these boads and i'm looking forward to reading though the threads, but i don't want to get my hopes up only to find that i cant afford NY after all.

any advice or thoughts would be fab.

    cheers,

    BP

    Define nice??

We eat at wo hop on Mott Street (downstairs) and the portions were huge and cheap and the food was pretty good.

Also check out chinatown ice cream factory on bayard street
