New York is the safest big city in the whole of the united states.

I don't agree with this either-however I do feel NYC is a safe city.
I'm a London girl by birth and upbringing and I feel safer in NYC than I do in London (not that I feel unsafe in London either)

I havent been yet however i've got mine booked for my trip in 5 weeks time. Yes they seem to book up very fast, i booked mine the day they were released july 4th.
Might be worth booked a few months before just incase. Also if you know you definatly want to go and know the date your not going to lose anything booking it so far in advance.

True, I just need to decide what day I want to do it on now, and what time! Reading some of the reviews on tripadvisor early morning seems to be the best time to go.

I am so tempted, flying with BA , week before christmas PE it is £2200 staying at the New Yorker.

Not my choice of hotel, but, I think it would be so lovely to see the place before Christmas.

Then again, I bet I can get the same deal after crimble for £1500 ish

New Yorker is a fine hotel. Nothing overly fancy but recently refurbished and didn't have any problems with our stay there.

Yes I agree, morning looks to be the best time. I've booked mine for 9am, apparently you must be in line about 30mins before your slot.

Last year we waited 2 hours in line for the boat, this was afternoon 2ish so i think morning will be much quicker.
New York ♥..........These street will make you feel brand new, Big lights will inspire you.
No place in the world that can compare ♥ 2nd October 2010 ♥

2 hours is a bit too long to be hanging about, going to book for 9am too I think.

If you can always book for the 9am boat!

Other things, new York is the safest big
city in the USA. That's not my
opinion but a stastistical fact, as anything
over 1.5 million is classed as a big city

new yorker, tourist class hotel, if you get a crap room complain, the refurb rooms are much Better tHan the normal ones, not all
rooms are refurbed! Also, the area ain't
much so venture out and about for evening meals
    etc!!

Yeah, that'll do for now. Apologies for the bad typing, I'm on my iPhone!

    Hi Steph,
I believe thats theres no lift, just steps and its a spiral stair case.
I read somewhere that in a few years they will be closing it again to do some work inside changing the stairs etc.

    Hiya,

Sod that then lol I'm so unfit I don't really do stairs lol!! I don't like spiral staircases they make me feel sick I can't do spiral car park exits either :o
