Hi
I am staying in the New Yorker from the 29th December to 3rd Jan and i have emailed the hotel to see how much an up-grade would be. I have had this reply: -
Good Afternoon,
Thank you for contacting The New Yorker hotel. If you would like to upgrade to a standard queen size bed city view room (guarantee city view) I could offer you and upgrade charge of $20 plus tax per night. If you would like to upgrade to a queen size bed plaza suite (queen size bed in the room and a separate living room area with continental breakfast included) I could offer you an upgrade charge of $40 plus tax per night. Please advice if you would like to do the upgrade.
Is this a good deal. I am soo tempted by the $40 dollar one, but have never been to New York before and am pretty sure we won't be spending too much time in the room, but looking at the size of the rooms on trip advisor the standard ones are tiny.
Any advice at all is greatly appreciated. If dogs don't go to heaven, then I want to go where they go. :A0 -
How much are they charging for the room?
there's a lovely 'city view' when you walk out of the hotel0 -
Well we paid £690 each for the flight and the hotel (inc transfers from airport tohotel), so dont know how much the room actually cost. Yes i suppose there is a city view once you leave the hotel!!If dogs don't go to heaven, then I want to go where they go. :A0

Anyone stayed at the Roosevelt Hotel before? Only ever stayed in NY for buiness, planning on taking the missus later ths year.
Cheers0 -
looks like about 600/650 for 5 nights over new year at the new yorker depending where hes travelling from.
Welsh- depends how much you think you will use or need your hotel room if it was me and was offered a suite with brekkie for $200 + tax i would take it /. I like and value my room and the space you get ( ive heard you dont get much in a standard new yorker room)i also value a view as i dont sleep much ever so i often just read or window stare and watch dawn and cities waking up . So choice is yours you wont spend all day in it but you will spend most of the night. hard as nails on the internet . wimp in the real world :cool:0 -
Thanks Greenface. Your help is appreciated. I think i will upgrade, as we like our comforts etc.If dogs don't go to heaven, then I want to go where they go. :A0

Compared to a standard room it worked out £100 more- so £10 each extra a night.
For us ( myself and my mum) we thought it was worth this for the two double beds. It does also come with a view and a bigger room also but for us it was the 2 double beds we wanted.
If its the same for you and the bigger bed you want it could be worth it, are you going with your partner? If not and its a friend maybe you could request the 2 doubles.New York ♥..........These street will make you feel brand new, Big lights will inspire you.
No place in the world that can compare ♥ 2nd October 2010 ♥0
