I'm sorry but I really dont agree with 'taking the tags off' if you want to buy over £340 worth of stuff then pay the ruddy duty on it!!!
£340 is more than the amount of spending money on my whole last NY holiday - if you've got that kind of cash to flash more than that around on jeans, bags or whatever then you should pay the tax on it!
Ultimately its an individual choice, but i dont agree by "having that kind of cash" means you are flash/rich as some ppl like myself save up for it, plus you buy a nice watch and thats your allowance mostly gone, i kno most my friends budget for 1-1.5k spending money per week (exc tickets for stuff) and at least half that will be on shopping.
I certainly wont be adding to Darlings coffers!0 -
got mine with delta... £380 ish i paid for it.... depends what airport and what dates you're choosing can have an influence on the price...
this is the MOST i've ever paid for a flight to NYC... a bit annoyed really, as i've normally got good prices..0 -
Evening all!
Just wondering if anyone has stayed at Newton hotel and what you thought of it?
I've got a provisional booking for just over £400 for 2 of us for 4 nights in november, deluxe 2 dbl beds.
Other option on hold was New Yorker hotel but its amost £160 more expensive.
Any thoughts?!
Thanks x0 -
I've not stayed at the newton hotel however i'm staying in the New Yorker in November.
Just wondered if you have been on travelsupermarket to compare the prices on the new yorker? It was a bit too much for us however after going on travelsupermarket it came up with a great deal on travel supermarket. Might be worth just checking it out, may find it a bit cheaper if not, I think the price you have for 2 doubles is very reasonable.New York ♥..........These street will make you feel brand new, Big lights will inspire you.
No place in the world that can compare ♥ 2nd October 2010 ♥0 -
for november £100 a night for a room with 2 doubles is good value...
as a rule of thumb £100 a night in a high season (only Jan - Mar are classed as low season in NYC) for a room with one double bed in, isn't a bad price for a reasonable hotel...
The New Yorker however is in a very average location, chain restaurants and not much around it.... I don't know where the Newton is, so can't comment on the area0
