Oooh.. i've got a dilemma. Cosmo Hotel where i've booked for 4 nights, has gone down in price from $189 a night to $145 a night through hotelconxions.com

Now, if i cancel my current rate, it'll cost me $25, and then rebook at the new lower rate, I'll actually save £100 ish. BUT, hotelconxions say it takes up to 4 weeks for the refund to appear, which is quite a long time IMO.

what's my chances if I make a phone call to see if they'll just refund the "difference" in the old rate, to the new rate?!

I'm sure you have already, but I'd give 'em a bell sharpish Marky. You never know, they may even waive the canx fee as your rebooking with them.Good luck.

Anybody pining for New York can find some of the sounds here: http://www.coppoletta.net/ctastuff/ctasounds.htm
NY stuff is at the bottom of the page.

My other half found them for me (he's a Transport Geek, don't ask!) as he knew this was my particular favourite, as it sounds like Mike Nesmith from the Monkees -

Me and my friend booked a flight to New York, but I didn't know my friend had a reprimand on his police record from about 7-8yrs ago when he was 14/15yrs old. Does he need a visa to travel to the US for 2 weeks, or ESTA online be ok? Read some places say yes and other places no. Also see http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=846763&page=23 & http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1868083

Please help my friend so he doesn't lose his flight booking. Does he need to get an Police certificate (£40 inc P&P) then apply for a visa (£70+ travel expenses)?

Any one know an immigration lawyer ?

    Thank you
  • Continental are only taking bookings up untill 12th July 2010 right now, so i'll need to wait a week to get a quote from them. Thanks though, I know Scottish flights always seem to either cost more or take longer !

has anyone ordered a New York pass for pick up at times square rather than delivery?
I'm not sure how long you have to collect them after ordering and ive only got 3 days to get it at a discount. I've emailed them but the reply was less than helpful.

This was the only option we had when we bought ours on Expedia. Think we had about 4 weeks or so before we picked it up. I cant see it being a problem as long as you have your voucher. You could always try contacting Planet Hollywood as this is where you pick them up from (the shop til). I will try to track down my book to see if thre is anything in there. Is the discount online? If so I think it tends to come round quite often and gets extended quite a bit as this happened with us.

    Hi Griggsy

the discount is online only and runs out tomorrow. Its a summer promotion and has already been extended twice. That said, summer doesn't officially end until the end of august.

330 days is how far ahead you can book a transatlantic flight with most airlines.

However, the best deals might not be 330 days ahead...
  • Yeh seems to be apart from BA

Not gonna book them too early anyway, think i'll try the famous 3 month rule ? ;)

Dialaflight have best price economy fares valid for departure between 16/5/10 & 30/6/10 for £337 return from Glasgow incl all taxes etc.
Need to phone them for more info but i think i'll investigate this :o

Read something about a BA sale in September ? Think they'll have NY fares for June/July 2010 in this ? Or is that pushing my luck a wee bitty ?

I will be in NYC for 1 day during September.
    Never been before.
Looking for ideas to get a taste of the place. Realise I can't see it all in 1 day - and I do envisage I will be coming back another time.

What do you think would be a good use of my time. Maybe a Tour bus? which one is decent.

    Thanks
