I wanna go back to NYC next september, i've heard the Foo Fighters are playing @ MSG for the "concert for peace" Id like to go for 7 days/nights, last time i went for 5. Wouldnt mind staying near where i did last time (57th st) but want to see more of NY than i did before. When would be the best time to book flights, and is it cheaper to book flights and accom seperatly??
What hotels would you guys rec?
    Thanks in advance

Hotels are really down to where you want to stay and how much you want to spend, I prefer mid-town and have stayed at The Sheraton New York Hotel & Towers, The Michelangelo, and the Roosevelt.

We had a ‘Club’ room at the Sheraton and a free upgraded room at the Michelangelo; we enjoyed both of these hotels and would go back again and recommend to friends.
The Roosevelt we were disappointed with, it was tired and did not live up to expectation.

The Beacon has been mentioned recently and on viewing this hotel I may well give it a go next time we go.

The best thing you can do is to look at the names of hotels mentioned on here and then go to sites like Tripadvisor and check out the reviews.

As for flights I have read that it’s cheaper to book as far ahead as you can to get the best prices, shop around see who has the flight for less, any special offers etc.

I prefer to fly from an airport nearer to me, which can be more expensive than flying from Heathrow, but far more convenient.

Awww Marky we'll miss you :(

Flight wise I love the 3 month rule but summer and Christmas are always going to be expensive so further in advance for those times may be helpful :D

I've paid £280 and £220 for my flights this year :D

If you have time, a trip to the seaside and Coney Island is a must (IMO) - the 'freak show' and live entertainers are great, as is the old coaster and Ferris Wheel :)

Is the fairground at Coney Island open this year? Am going in September but when I went same time last year everything was closed.. had a hotdog at Nathans and walked right along the beach cos it was a lovely day but the freakshow and fairground rides were all closed.
