For travel from europe: when i booked my ticket on may 5th 09 if you have booked before April 09 then get 2 bags, then when i checked a few weeks ago it said if you booked before May 22nd 09 i think it was, then allowed 2 bags. Just checked now and it doesnt even mention travel from europe only within the USA and talking about booking before April 2008.
So i think its now changed back again to being able to check in 2 bags free of charge if your from europe?? and this 2nd bag charge is only for travel within usa now?
Thats how its looking to me ( unless it changes again)
well, i've just had a peek and it saysFor travel to/from Europe you can check one bag free of charge, $50 for second checked bag beginning July 1, 2009.
You can refer to the chart below for exceptions to this policy
Latin America (South America, Central America, the Caribbean, Bahamas, and Mexico), the Middle East, Africa, Europe, and Canada - Economy Class 2 checked bags Each bag at a maximum 50 lbs (23 kg) and 62 linear inches (157 cm) (total length + width + height)
wasn't it $25 for the second checked bag, but now it's $50, oh hang on, it says i'm allowed 2 checked bags! eh!
*confused*
it's ok.. i'll only have the one this time anyway.. not buying anything in NYC in september!

Continentals baggage allowance is confusing me as well, says that it is charged extra even for 1?
Bought is to buy. Brought is to bring.0 -
Yes it was $25, i didnt even noticed they had changed that too.
I know its very confusing, they are changing it every other week.
Nearer the time im going to go to Delta check-in to ask ( as i work at the airport) think thats the only way of finding out for sure seeing as the website is very misleading.
Are you sure you wont be buying anything in sept? lol. well can always take a small suitcase onboard. thats what i'm going to have to do depending on what website said in November hmmm....New York ♥..........These street will make you feel brand new, Big lights will inspire you.
No place in the world that can compare ♥ 2nd October 2010 ♥0 -

It's ok, i've sent off my usual sarcastic style complaint.. I'm not even 100% sure of what the policy was when I booked my ticket, I know it was 1 free, and the second was chargeable, but i'm not sure if it was $25 or $50.
Back in March i bought 2 pairs of jeans, a pair of nice shoes, and also some techy gadgets, so i squeezed them into my hand luggage, and other things from my hand luggage went into my suitcase.
In september, I'm not going to be taking a winter coat, so that frees up quite a bit of room in my suitcase, as it isn't cold then, so that's a plus.
Also, with changing hotels half way through, and using the subway, I don't want TOO many bags to be carrying, so suitcase, laptop, and hand luggage, will suffice. When I get my suitcase back, before boarding the subway, i'll juggle things around so I only have the suitcase and the hand luggage which is a nice pullalong anyway..
stupid delta and their stupid ever changing policies..

and the sky train thingy thats from JFK right?
ok, head spinning now0 -
Fordy,
Ok... if you want the best exchange rate at the time of your travel, the Nationwide Current Account / Nationwide Credit Card is your best bet.
If you want to lock in a rate, and grab a prepaid card, the FairFX card seems to be the best on.
As for the AirTrain, click on the first page, and find the getting into and around Manhattan thread.

Hello,
You all will remember i had a booking with 1800hotels but found a cheaper rate on quikbook. 1800 hotels finally gave me a full refund and i booked with quikbook, but now i see that didnt include tax. Any anyone estimate how much tax will be added? Or should i look for another deal inc tax?0
