    Vincci Avalon - http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g60763-d99387-Reviews-Vincci_Avalon-New_York_City_New_York.html - 145th out of 421

i still like the Cosmopolitan, and it comes out higher at 115th!!

i'd look at flights with the actual airline as normally there are no booking fees..

but if you book something that isn't cancellable, then it, erm, isn't cancellable.

there are plenty of people on this forum here that help and point in the right direction with websites etc etc.... so you should have asked before you clicked BUY IT NOW
It is cancelable at a cost of 20% of the rate btw.
the customer services from 1800 hotels informs me quikbook isnt not bonded by ABTA, IATA or ASTA , so this brings reservations regarding booking with them.

A friend recommended thirty thirty as basic accomodation however im now extremly concerned about this choice in light of the info you supplied!

Not sure what the info you have been given Kim, but here's the link to tripadvisor

Also, with so much to see and do in NYC, you'll hardly be in your room, trust me. It will be a shower and sleep and then back out to see the fab city that is New York! :)

Bought is to buy. Brought is to bring.
  • thanks hieveryone for putting a positive spin on my situation. im not traveling until 3rd sept, 3-7 in chicago then 7-14 in nyc so ill keep an eye on the reviews and see, but fingers crossed.
I had looked at a special from zootravel for un millenium plaza - running for stays until 7 sept. seems like a good deal to me, i did ask on here but no one had an opinion on this hotel. Then a friend recommended thirty thirty.
Re the theatre tickets i think ill bite bullet and go with ticketmaster as poster above recommended.
Also booked for us open! yay

I've never booked with anyone that is ABTA IATA or ASTA, but booked with a recommended website.. i think they are mainly a European thing.. i've never heard of 1800hotels til you mentioned it..

quikbook / hotelconxions have been around for quite a few years, and i've never heard any problems about any of them. I personally haven't used quikbook, but have used hotelconxions many times, and never had an issue. they even call me in the UK from the US to confirm the reservation.

Direct flights from Heathrow to JFK on Sep 24 - 28 is coming up as £249.10 per person on the American Airlines site.

Also, on Expedia, there are direct flights on the same dates between the same airports with Air France for £236.35. Don't forget Quidco too.
