I never thought of one of those!!!! :rotfl:

Yet another project to add to my list! my poor dining table is heaving! Just had to eat my dinner off a tray as no room on table.....
  • Some lovely things on here!

I can't knit, but can crochet and found THIS the other day, so am now busy making a mix of turquoise twirly flamenco scarf.

It doesn't seem as thick and twirly as it would be if I'd knitted it, but I actually prefer that.

  • :)Just watched the scarf tutorial and it seems sooooo easy, but where do you get the scarf yarn from?

Im just in the process of collecting (buying) wool to make the babushka dolls from the cute and easy crochet book from attic24, I think they are so nice, and I have made a few of the mug huggers and tin huggers off there and have quite impressed myself as Im a beginner:) In the meantime I have started to crochet granny squares to make a cushion but I really fancy the ripple so I may put it on the back burner and have a go at that. I will take on board Miffy what has happened to you and work the colours out before hand, but Im going to have a practice first to how easy it is:rotfl:
Anyway happy crocheting everyone, I have put a camera on my birthday list and its a big 0 one this year so Im hoping they might all club together and buy one for me, or more OS give me one of theirs when they have a new one:)

PS there are some wonderful items been completed on here, congrats to all:)

I would love to make something similar to this bag, but don't think I have skills to make it possible. I can usually manage granny squares and straight lines of crochet! :)

Would you class these as "Japenese Flowers"?

Hello and welcome to crochet :D!

I started with some DK (double knit wool) and a 4mm hook. The book that really got me started was Cute and Easy Crochet which is filled with projects from beginner to advanced. It has clear instructions and the projects are gorgeous!

Had a peep on Amazon and ended up ordering, should arrive in a couple of days. Thanks Rummer :)

Stick with it you will get there, keep looking at You Tube and Attic24 these will help alot. I couldnt crochet at all and had no one to show me and this is how a taught myself and now I have completed a Granny Square lap blanket, a Blooming flower cushion, a Ripple cushion, nearly completed a Japanese Flower Scarf and have a Ripple blanket in progress too, not bad considering i only started to learn to crochet in November! Its so addictive! I have a growing stash of wool and loads of projects in the queue......;)

    Go for it!! Good luck.

Drummer I found the step by step pics in books really helpful as you tube clips were too quick for me
