Yey. It was worth the wait. That looks so good, I love the bright colours in it. Did you make the net bags also?

I just discovered (when doing my picture above) that if you copy the IMG code then that puts the picture itself into the post if you only want to put one in rather than link to a few)

Thank you :) I did thenet bags, too....they are very easy :) Not sure that I do them "right", but I think they look ok....they're a "mindless" craft - like bubblegum for my brain :D

I have started making some Christmas gifts after I made a bag for myself, which I really like & have been using all the time. Apparently my family have been talking about the things I have been making. (I had made some wristlet/fingerless glove things in a lacy pattern for my niece - soon to be 18 & into goth-type stuff) . My BIL made some joke about crochet presents. When his comment was reported back to me, of course I started to look for something suitable - well, I found a pattern for a beer bottle cosy. It's designed for american football, but I have done it in his team's colours (Arsenal- he can't help it, poor thing) and it fits a bottle of stella just fine!

Now I have seen a pattern for "Doris scarves" - so as there are 3 people with that name in the family, I shall be busy.....

I have found it!!!! "recipe" for these dolly bags http://s1092.photobucket.com/albums/i405/PixieDust1975/?action=view&current=FaithsBlanket20111.jpg#!oZZ6QQcurrentZZhttp%3A%2F%2Fs1092.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fi405%2FPixieDust1975%2F%3Faction%3Dview%26current%3DDSCF0001.jpg is as follows.

Foundation ring: With lime wol, Make 8ch and join with sl st
Round 1: 3ch, 14 tr in ring, sl st to third ch
Round 2: 3ch, 1tr in same sp, (2tr in st) to end, sl st to third ch
Round 3: 3ch, 1tr in same sp, (2tr in 1 tr) to end, sl st to third ch
Round 4: (5ch, sk 2 tr, 1dc in next tr) to end, sl st along first ch of first loop
Round 5: (5ch, 1dc in centre of next loop) to end, sl st along first 2 ch of first loop
Rounds 6-18: As Round 5, fasten off. Join on violet to third ch of one loop
Rounds 19-20: As round 5, fasten off

Drawstring: With orange, make 100ch. Thread the end of the yarn through a tapestry needle, then thread the needle under and over the points where the trw purple rounds meet. Pass both ends through a bead, knot them together and trim. Make a second drawstring and thread it through the top edge from the opposite side.

Phew, that took ages with a ferret walking across the keyboard, I had to keep deleting! :D As you can see from the pics...I tend to use patterns as "guides"....I get so far, see where I'm going, and then go freestyle :D

In theory they should be pictures of the glove/wristwarmer things, and the beer cosy.

Let me know if the pictures work ok.

Just thought I would post a pic of my latest throw and dishcloth - ignore the hearts etc. I am in a throw crocheting mood, maybe cos its cold here.

Just doing a cream, dusky pink and slightly acid green - sounds awful but looks good.

  • Chips the pics worked out. Love your projects, especially the wrist warmers. Very nice.
Ginnyknit those hearts look soooooo sweet and the blanket, well I just want to cuddle up in it.
