Now that it is getting chilly and dark earlier I have dug my crochet back out, I'm really keen to finish my daughters lap blanket in time for Christmas :D

Thanks Kit! You are a star!
The tea cosy is started, I'm just very slow, so I thought a few hours of concentrated effort would improve my skills and my progress! Will double check my hook is plastic tonight and wait to hear if I can pack it, or need to find something else to do for 10 hours!

Air stewardess friend says yes it should be fine :)

    Thanks Kit.
Pulled out my tea cosy project and discovered it's a metal hook tho :o
Trip to Hobbycraft tomorrow to see if I can pick up a plastic one, and not buy anything else whilst I'm there!

Do you have enough time to order one via ebay?? Avoid hobby craft if you can ..... you just know you will buy other things!!

I have just treated myself to yet another crochet book through the book people, it wouldn't be so bad if I could actually make something :rotfl:

Hi everyone i've still not blocked those buntings yet and never got round to making the robin bauble as i've been busy on my other project for my DS a ripple blanket! This is a very long project as it is a very large blanket, ideal as a throw for his bed but i am enjoying it! Rummer just being nosey but which book did you order?

I've been getting blisters on my inside of my little finger from crocheting so i was thinking of buying some pencil grips rubbery type cushion (hope that made sense) to place over my hook. Do you guys think this will work? I couldn't find any crochet cushion cover as seen on some U.S youtube crochet tutorials. Anyways hope you all having a lovely weekend! :)

That is a bargain, someone selling the same book for £10.10 plus 99p postage on ebay!

Got a new (plastic) crochet hook in Hobbycraft so Mission Crochet-my-way-to-Houston is on track again!
I looked at the crochet books in there and none of them inspired me at all. Rummer, that one of yours looks more promising - I want something that advances as you go with projects to complete. Might add that one to the Christmas list!
