Another square done for Africa today ...... I have decided to do one square between every project of my own. Otherwise I think I would spend all my time doing my own stuff and never send anything to Africa .... and then I would feel bad :o

I'm starting on my xmas presents now. My MIL wants a net shopping bag. I have found a pattern that I want to use but am confused by row 2!!!

Working in a round with row one just being sc 12 in the ring.

    Row 2 says:
(in next loop make sc, chain 12 and sc; chain 12) 12 times - 24 loops.

Does this mean sc in a loop, chain 12, then sc in SAME loop, chain 12 and then move on to next and do it 12 times??

Kit - i love the 2nd scarf! Have you worked out row 2 on the bag?

    Dizzy- lovely blanket!

Well i have been mega busy and tired! DD started reception last week and the last 2 days has been her 1st full days so we are all adjusting to the new routine in between that and the regular household chores! If only i could crochet all day long! Well since i have last posted i still haven't blocked DD bunting triangles yet... but i have made a start on DS bunting and finished a little baby doll's blanket for DD's baby Annabel! I thought as it was such a small project i will try out the vertical stripe pattern (found it via attic24 blog to another blog) and it turned out ok! All pics will be posted soon well as soon as i can get my !!!! into gear and block those triangles!

I was looking around and came across little cotton rabbits blog and fell in love with her crochet blanket! - http://littlecottonrabbits.typepad.co.uk/my_weblog/crafts_knitting/ the one right at the bottom of the page. I think i will add that to my long list to make!

Anyways kids are sleeping so looks like crochet time! :)

I havent done any crochet yet today, been too busy. Have had some requests come in from friends and my daughter wants a whole wardrobe for her favorite teddy. Good job I got a HUGE delivery of wool today and bought a load more on ebay this morning.

  • I need to make some crochet Poppies asap.
I found a nice free pattern online: ( http://goodtimesithinkso.blogspot.com/2009/10/crochet-remembrance-poppy.html ) but just can't get it to work.

Even took it to my craft class and we still had to many stiches left and the petals to near each other???

Have check YouTube and can't find a video link for one. Does anyone know where I can find a Video online to teach me quite quickly please?
    Thanks

    Hi,
I could do with some advice on taking crochet hooks on planes please! I've been searching the internet and most sites are delightfully vague. I have 2 x 10 hour flights to get through so I thought a little crochet-ing would keep me occupied - I'm attempting a teapot cosy at the moment.

Flights are with Continental from London Heathrow to George Bush Intercontinental, Houston, Texas. I've looked at the Continental Airlines site, the BAA Heathrow site and Houston airports site with no luck.

It would be a plastic hook I'm taking. Any advice appreciated as I'm aware the US can be pretty tight on security.

    Thanks in advance.

I think plastic hooks are fine as long as you have the wool with you as well so you can prove it is really for crochet. Would help if the item you are making is started so you can show them you are in the process of something.
I plan to take mine with me for 2 x 9 hour flights in December so did some asking round and the above is what I got told. Am seeing my air stewardess friend later so will check with her too and get back to you :)

Thanks Kit! You are a star!
The tea cosy is started, I'm just very slow, so I thought a few hours of concentrated effort would improve my skills and my progress! Will double check my hook is plastic tonight and wait to hear if I can pack it, or need to find something else to do for 10 hours!
