But, still nice to see a formal letter saying £50,000 paid back to them in 12 months:j:j:j0 -
Hi all
Goodness, we are all the way down on page 4... I've just been catching up with all your news - hopefully all of you have your mortgage statements from C&G now, mine was really early this year, I think I got it early in the second week of January which was much sooner than normal so I was a bit suprised to see some of you were still waiting.
I've just sent an OP of £250 to the mortgage, I'm not really due to do it until this coming Friday but it was in my account so I sent it. I'll send the other £250 on Friday.
Hope you are all well
Regards

I got my mortgage statement from Britannia a few weeks ago. I now have a balance of approximately £6000Mortgage Free as of 31/5/11 :j:j:j:j:j:j:j0

My balance is significantly higher than that, but I'm plugging away at it!
We've nearly spent all the renovation fund we set aside whe we moved in nearly 18 months ago, and still lots to do so the offset savings will be going down rather than up in the next year. Lots of fun with the house, though, and lovely to see bits of it getting done. Much warmer with new windows, boiler, cavity wall and loft insulation, too!
Keep it up everyone, we'll all get there in the end, with that end much sooner than the banks would like :-)Mortgage Free thanks to ill-health retirement0 -

Hey there, Well the crappy offer was withdrawn for an even crappier offer, and then we got another offer which was even crappier still. However, one of the offers came with a deal to include all our legal fees etc so we are considering that one (sell quick effort). They're even negotiating a deal for us on the property we most like. Our first offer has been rejected and we're leaving them over the weekend for two reasons: 1 - not to seem to desperate to buy: and two to let them reflect on an offer in hand as opposed to uncertainty. To be fair we have only offered £5K less than they are asking while, as you may remember, we are taking an even bigger dip. We do have finance in place for more than they are asking but obviously we would prefer not to have to increase our mortgage at all.
We also have the other arm of the same company with the sell quick offer ready to take on being our estate agent - and they do seem to be more innovative and pro-active than the rubbishy lot. So we shall see!
Thanks for asking - I will update when I have anything firmer to report xxStruggling too much wears a body out

Hi Superfast Gran
I'll freely admit to knowing very little about anything at all, but I don't like the sound of one company working on both sides of the deal. I hope you are taking good advice from somebody knolwedgeable and independant of the transaction.
That wouldn't be me!!
Sorry if I have put doubt in your mind and shouldn't have:o
Just wonder what others think.

I was dreading the March update as we had a rough few months with unexpected bills. I was getting myself really down about it, but then February has been completely different. DH cashed in some overtime he was owed and then got a bonus, so we are actually going to be ahead with only about £300 to find to be on target for the June update.
I seem to be on a good roll at the moment so i just hope we can keep it up as it will be harder when the rates go up.0 -

Hey, don't worry - we've been all over this. We started out with the estate agency side but decided we wanted to sell quicker and with our house losing £20K on surveys from July last year to now - another buyer had the survey done last week - we don't want to keep dipping lower and lower. Plus there's also the safety side of things for me. I just want out of here! Anyhoo, we're not just jumping, we have thought and talked it over and over again. Thanks for your perspective though. It is appreciated xxStruggling too much wears a body out
