The Mortgage Free in Three - Take 2 challenge (MFiT-T2)

ok so this is where I'm at, 12 months after paying off the first mortgage. Having had 12 months to build up some savings to pay for deposit on a bigger house for our kids, I'm taking on a new mortgage much earlier than expected. I didn't want to move until the very last minute, perhaps in line with my MFiT target at the end of 2012. But needs must and I'm moving to a different part of the country where the work is.
By the summer I will know where I am at with everything, but for now its a period of uncertainty, and I hate change.
So.... part 2 is most definately underway now, that is for sure. I have estimated that I will be completely mortgage free by June 2013 under current circumstances. I will try to update my diary when I know more
Good luck with everything - but keep postingStruggling too much wears a body out

(no 117) Having made OPs in Jan of just over £1500 our mtge is (according to my s/s - awaiting stmt) just under 90k and we are track to achieve our target of £67500 in Oct 2012 - but that's assuming i/r stay the same (they won't!), so I know this will change. Our current m/f date is 08/2017, so I've still quite a way to get it to my target of 07/2016 (about another 14k...) Still, targets should be a little challenging, I feel!!I am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £200

I used to try and read everything "back in the day" - then I just couldn't do it anymore! It's really great to see the MFW board so popular.0 -
Everyone is doing so well..
Greent ...thats one heck of a signature..how are you managing on that grocery budget..?? Very impressive..are you weezl in disguise?!
We have just taken money out of our OP pot to pay back a CC run up whilst away at Xmas. That was the plan but this site is helping so much ( I am really trying to see the good side here can't you tell:o) that I feel really really cheesed off that I can't make OPs this month plus had to remove money..oh well onwards and upwards.
More discipline...and being less tired...that's the way forward! And annual statement was good to see tbh as it showed just how little interest we are paying..long may interest rates stay low...

Now down to £23,545 as fixed OP came off today.
Adding this to my normal monthly payment and the bumper OP we made a couple of weeks ago means we have reduced the morgage by £2299 in the first month of 2011 :cool:5/10/12 : Mortgage Free0 -

I remember when you used to do that SMF2, at certain points in the day I could see you name against all the 'most recent posts' and then see all your fab artwork, I always used to wonder if that was when you were having some kind of coffee breaks and could almost picture you sitting with your coffee whizzing through our diaries
You're both right about all the diaries now, it's a shame I can't keep up with them all but great to see the MFW's increasingMFW Start Date 1.4.08. Updated 23.1.18. MFW date 1.8.18
