Just moved some money out of shares and sent additional OP of £448 to our lender. We have plans in place to try to really move on a step this year, so this is the starting point, not forgetting the quidco £1 already paid!RosieTiger - Highest £242,000 Feb 2004

Hey, when I first started over paying they used to shorten my monthly payment but then they changed it to shortening the term, so I eagerly awaited my yearly statement to see how many years I had left but they just put 'original agreement finishes 2033' how annoying is that? I presume I could ring them up tho its not worth it really as its probably going to finish alot before then but still annoying so I get what your saying about the excitement of receiving statements!!Mortgage November 2003 was £135k, but thanks to this website on 28/08/12 we became MORTGAGE FREE!
Now just over 2 years we have taken on the challenge again! )(starting £237k Nov 2014) Current mortgage £232,399.82, current overpayment total £1550, years remaining= 170 -
Hi everyone..
Phoned Santander yesterday to sort out O/P...they had been putting it into a Savings Pot and not taking it off the actual capital...anyway...all done now...
January OP = £200
Expected February OP = £400
Thinking about changing from I/O to part I/O part repayment...it would actually amount to the same as our current OP...so will speak to DH this evening.
Thanks!2024 Challenges- Grocery Budget (January £0/£300)

Hi Guys
Just looking through the chart summary and there are at least 50 people that have no updates at all - maybe it would be a good time to have a "spring clean" and tidy up the list?
Why? These people may return and update. Its a three year payment plan with no conditions.12/12/12 Lets party!:beer:0 -
I agree L-J. If that had been the case, I might have been swept up and tidied off the list. Life got in the way for me for a while, physically & emotionally, and perhaps that's the case for others. Besides does it actually involve any extra work their being there? TG perhaps you could pitch in here?

Hi all, I made my first OP of the year yesterday for £500; it seems like ever such a long time since I last did it in December. I also got my annual mortgage statement though yesterday and whilst there was no suprises in it it's always lovely seeing it in black and white isn't it. Mind you, it did show that I was just over a £1 out compared to what my beloved spreadsheet was telling me - oh, the shame of it, I don't think I'll ever recoverMFW Start Date 1.4.08. Well, isn't it just a week! Last Saturday hubbies car broke down. Garage fixed it on Monday afternoon, broke down again Monday evening! So it's gone! Sold it this afternoon (and it's apparently broken down again!) and ordered hubby a brand new Toyota Aygo Go! (his choice). To be delivered next Friday! So, all thought of OP's out the window till I get juggling! Also, bit of a worry about what to do regarding purchaser of old car. Any thoughts peeps?

I would say most private car sales are sold as seen. You sold it having just fixed it so weren't to know it would go again straight away. Depends on if it was sold to someone you know. Difficult. I am so soft i would probably offer them something back feeling guilty, but that can happen.
We once bought a car of my dads friend, and we took it on a test drive of 5 miles and before we got home the engine blew up and we needed towing home. Luckily, the guy admitted it was because he failed to do an oil change and the dirt broke the engine, and as he dealt in cars he had a spare engine to go in. I was pretty gutted at the time, having just passed my test and it being my 1st car.
We've not had our mortgage statement yet and it is eagerly awaited. No idea why as i look at the balance online every day, and i always know the balance and my spreadsheet helps me work out where i am, but having the evidence in your hands is great. Particularly showing it to DH as it is the one time of year he shows any interest in where we are.0
