 <--- me and the mrs.

    Mortgage free status achieved!

Yep we've paid off our £13,577 balance and reached £0 owing.
All done before I'm 40 (later this month).

    YAY!
    It's a !!!!in great feeling.
Changes our monthly budget significantly. Putting half of the money we were overpaying towards the BTL and "enjoying" the other half.
We aim to finish the BTL in 8 years maximum (currently over 120k owing on a £190k house)

I shall be adding a post in the main MF roll of honour and looking forward to being MF no.3 in this challenge.

    Good luck all!

    Well Done JonnyBravo:T:T:T That's fantastic!!!:j:j

last couple of months--have seen a few MF formites

    giving us all motivation

many of us have years/months to go

how do we keep the faith and not give up?

    1.small targets-add up(try to over pay into the next £100--ie £160---o/p £70)
2.dont take on further debt(NO payments a month is BETTER than MORE payments a month)
3.better to aim for a target each month than try and be frugal(dont want to make it a chore)
4.every month as my target goes lower i treat myself(steak/chinese/restaurant meal)
5.you get setbacks-LARGE BILLS from no-where(it might put your target date few months/years behind--thats no prob--im a couple years behind but in the bigger picture balance is hugely down)
6.keep posting and looking at MF threads--financial bliss/wynvegas were the catalysts that put me on this journey.

    all the best everyone

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
    :) Mortgage Balance = £0 :)

Congratulations JonnyBravo. Best of luck with the next mortgage! I'm still at the dreading the thought of taking another one out stage!!

Great tips blacktaxi - We had initially aimed to celebrate every £10,000 marker with a celebratory dinner but only got round to about 2 of those!

    Cheers,

    Billy
