Seeing and knowing what you will hit and when can make it seem like it's dragging. I find two solutions to that - firstly look back at where you started and take the time to recognise your progress and secondly, keep taking the "tablets" contained in reading other people's successes. It's great to see 3 people on this challenge make it, it was actaully quite strange on the day Billy managed it, coming home from work and waiting to log on and confirm they had made it was pretty exciting!!!

Hi
was wondering if i could join in please...
I posted on another thread, but reading through this one, I really do need to set myself a target..
this is the infor i posted on the other thread
Hi,
I am new on these boards...
I know the year is nearly over, but i would like to join in if its possible..
We made our first ever overpayment today of £100:j
We phoned our mortage provider to find out if we would get any penalties etc if we were to over pay and they said no..
we are on a variable of 3.5%
with 15 years and one month to go
our interest is £4.22 per day
and we owe £44'272.24
we took our mortage out in 1994 and it was only 21k, but a few years ago we had to remortgage and put another 35k on to it, this was to get us out of serius cashflow problems..
My time scale to me mortage free is asap:rotfl: but in reality i would love it to be 3 or 4 years max.
I have no spreadsheets etc as i am hopeless at that type of thing.... so we have applied to have our mortgage account on-line so i can see the balance decrease....even if it is very slowly...
when ever i get surplus money, even if its only £5 i will pay it off the mortage before i have time to spend it...lol..
sorry i have waffled on, but I think i needed to write it down, just to make sure i stick to it...lol...
hope you didnt mind me barging in on the thread...Work to live= not live to work0 -

Thanks-I'l endeavour to perhaps put the total months in my signature and then reduce them periodically-so as not to have endless numbers...it just seems like such a mountain to climb...right best get started :jGE 36 *MFD may 2043

It's good to see that many of us have nearly made it to the end of the first year of this challenge.
Your words of encouragement, support and sharing your trials and tribulations of everyday life have been amazing.
November mortgage payment and overpayments have been made so mortgage is currently £63,800. :j
So target for 2010 has been reached and I am still on target for my MFi3-T2 target.
We'll be celebrating with a nice meal tonight whilst on holiday in San Francisco.0
