Still managing to pay the £196.21 standard overpayments on the DD but struggling to find anything extra.

Well done for keeping up the 'standard' overpayments, and absolutely no bashing yourself is allowed for not making more just now - it's a long haul, this one!

  • Took a little longer than I hoped. All I needed to do was copy the data from the the temporary chart to the published Chart 03 and the two sheets didn't match. Just got down to the bottom of it now, so drum roll please....

    Here's the updated MFiT-T2 Chart 03:
    http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=0AnhcWfGMRVgddGtzMTdvS1VnNXUwakpPc3NjZzRHMVE&hl=en_GB&single=true&gid=19&output=html

Thanks to everyone who has provided an update - those of you who have are in the main doing very well. Now a quarter of a way through the challenge.

Again, as per previous published charts, could you check your entry and put a comment in the update form if there's something not quite right.

Currently we have paid off over one and a half million pounds - £1,670,982 :D or 17.29%
    :j Well done everyone! :j

However, if you flick back to the first page and look at the updated count, the least amount of people so far have updated to date for this chart - just 95 of you, resulting in this chart showing payments of £373,443 - see the chart summary sheet.

BUT, as there's no analysis been done for charts 01, 02, or 03, if you can provide a fairly accurate update for previous charts, I'd still be happy to take one before I get around to doing some analysis.

Will keep the chart "open" until the end of the month, ie 30th September, so keep the updates coming in.

Finally, intend to publish Chart 04 later today, so that you can use the "Shortfall" column to see where you need to be by the December update.

    Thanks,

    Financial Bliss / Maz123.

Now just over 2 years we have taken on the challenge again! )(starting £237k Nov 2014) Current mortgage £232,399.82, current overpayment total £1550, years remaining= 17
  • Hi All,

Latest report. Have just made a £500 overpayment (yesterday). This should bring my outstanding total down to somewhere in the lower £86K range.

Hoping in future to have this £500 overpayment as a monthly standard (as a minimum). If I can keep this up (and it is a big if) then it will take my balance down to £66000) by the end of 2012 (only 6K short of my target).
Little hectic at work at the moment, but as soon as it calms down I am going to look at other avenues for a little additional cash.

Best of luck to everyone and keep up the sterling effort!!! :j

It has been said many times before but I will say it again.

The effort you put into managing this challenge is amazing and I can't thank you enough.
All the little extras you put in help to motivate (e.g. the shortfall figure and your analysis figures).

    Many thanks.
  • Whoops...forgot it was the 12th today:o

  • Hello Everyone,

I'm not sure what to do. Since the last update I have remortgaged and increased my borrowing by a small amount. (Now on a much better rate, 2.49%)

Also we have decided to make overpayments on a different debt (About £9K) which will take about 9 months which means no overpayments for ages. :(

I will update the chart to show my new balance but I'm not sure how this will affect the numbers. FB's chart might spit me out.

Well done everyone on the overpayments - they are amazing.
  • Ditto to everyone who has
    a) thanked FB for all their hard work on this chart
    b) congratulated us all on the amount we have paid back so far

    Long may it all continue!
