Well Done. I bet your interest rates are far higher on your cards than your mortgage. You must be feeling great :D

thanks, luckily they were between 3.9% and 6% so not too bad. I was going to leave the 3.9% cc but then thought i'd just clear it all!

Nice little bonus of a refund from gas bill of £115. Gone straight into mortgage pot!! Quick turn around from being £60 in arreas to £115 in credit in 9 months after switching tariffs. With our usual overpayment of £450 due to go in on Monday we'll be comfortably below the 153k mark, giving us a 10k reduction in the mortgage for the last 12 months!

First year of our 16 year target completed and will be over our schedule by 3k!! Can't believe the difference just by being more money aware and money respectful.

We have just re-mortgaged to First Direct and the mortgage balance has gone up (due to the redemption charge).

The starting figure for our mortgage with First Direct is £73,064.
The lest we recived from First Direct states that our first payment isn't due until 3rd October.

First Direct don't have a 'borrow-back' facility and we can get a better rate of interest elsewhere, so we have been making overpayments into several Regular Savings accounts (3.2% and 4% net), since June this year.
The figure I'll report will be £73,064 minus the total of all the Regular Savings accounts on the 6th September.
