  • My hubbyis pretty macho and he wears pink- as others have said, real men wear pink.

I'd definitely let him have the pink shoes, and take lots of pictures of him in them so you can show them to future girlfriends.......

Thanks for all the comments, I haven't had time yet to check out all the links but I'm definitely going to get him some pink shoes. There are some great styles out there and I'm sure we'll be able to find something.

He's currently in the nursery class at school but wears uniform, and he has his black school shoes which are just for school. I wouldn't send him in anything else.

Regarding negative comments, he'll be wearing the shoes when he's with me and that's a great opportunity to teach him how to respond to comments, though I don't think he really needs me. He's a bit of a comedian and loves attention.

BTW, yes dad is around and apart from a possible raised eyebrow, he would be fine with whatever.

I talked to my daughter about this today - she has a baby boy. She said that she would be fine if he wanted pink stuff, along with ironing board, hoover, etc.

She has just done work placement at a pre-school and said the funniest thing was twin boys dressing up as Snow White and Cinderella, complete with sparkly shoes and tiaras :)
  • I wouldn't put my (imaginery) :o son in pink shoes TBH. Not because I would be scared he would turn out to be gay but just because it wouldn't look right. I'd have no problem with him playing with dolls, ironing board, hoover etc. I bought my DD (6) a ski suit yesterday but it said boys suit on it so it took me a while to buy it. It is black and red and it is probably uni-sex but because it said "boys" suit on it I was wary of getting it. Don't know why really as she is the biggest tomboy I know. I think because people are instilled with 'appropriate' colours and toys for each sex from a young age that it is hard to break from the norm.

  • i would completly ignore all the iggnorant people on this thread who cant get past what "should" be done.
my son is almost 3 and he owns a pair of ALL pink high top trainers...and you no wot-they were MADE FOR boys...not girls!!

he looks very very awesome even if i do say so myself...!!!

if youve got any shoe shops such as schue (spelt wrong i think sorry) or office...go there..they always have pink shoes for boys.

who cares what anyone else thinks?? at the end of they day they wouldnt make them if there wasnt a market for them!!

good luck and i hope he looks fab in his pink shoes!!
    Having a coke with you
is even more fun than going to San Sebastian, Irun, Hendaye, Biarritz, Bayonne
or being sick to my stomach on the Travesera de Gracia in Barcelona
  • Let him have whatever colour shoes he likes - it's the sheep-follower posters here who say 'no' to it who have the problem, not your lovely son who has a mind of his own.

I honestly cannot believe we live in an age where so many people think that it's inappropriate. They should be looking more closely at themselves. And people say society is going down the pan - I wonder why.

well done you if he loves attention then you wont have a problem. and just think how happy its going to make you to see his little face when you get them. i think your going to end up with a very confident popular little boy in the future.

I saw a boy on the bus with a toilet roll on his hand today. He was 3. He refused to put on his gloves. He just wanted to wear his toilet roll tube. :rotfl:
