Yes, I know that. I am also subscribed to the codes thread and get e-mail notifications. As you know, these often alert you to new posts that are on the wrong thread.
That is why I would like to see a sticky for this one so it does not happen quite so often (I know there will always be someone, whatever is done!)
There is a sticky for the general freebie discussion, so why not for the
cinema tickets discussion one?- it is a thread that is always being added to. I am surprised that it is not one already.0 -
just been to see beverly hills chihuahua with my 11 yr old
we were in a different screen than the last times much better screen was much bigger much comfy seats makes a difference when watching a film with out getting a numb bum :rotfl:
loads of different age groups there as you would expect a lot of kids everyone seemed to enjoy the film people laughing at moments and were singing to the tunes coming on all in all it was a good family film
9/10everyone is wonderfull well all most :A0 -
Hi hm71,
I did say "most" and not "all", with "your" likeability scale referenced to the "rest of the population" which was my observation of the reaction by the rest of the audience at the screening I went to.
As they were leaving some girls were discussing actually paying to come to see it again
I agree it was rather poor hence my score of 5/10, but I've seen far far worse and if I scored this as only a 2/10 I'd have to be handing out negative values to some others (total trash) that I gave 0/10 .
quite right, you didn't say all, i just thought I could speak for a 30something female.- thats why its nice to have every score & provide an average. funnt enough I was discussing with some friends of ours in the foyer how I would cry if i'd paid to see it. highlighted bit in red with the quotation marks- didn't really see what you were getting at, perhaps I'm having a dinney day.

Beverly Hills Chihuahua is brilliant fun, we laughed our socks off! The OH and I would jointly give it 8.5/10. Of course you have to suspend all disbelief at the story, but if you love dogs, this is the film for you.
But if you are going next week with that Sun voucher, make sure you are early. We arrived at 9.50 for the 10.30 screening at the Odeon Covent Garden, and there was a queue round the block! When they let us in, the screen filled up in seconds, we had to run to get seats! Luckily in this case, a friend of ours was late, and she phoned us to say that she was outside with lots of other people and they had decided to open the bigger screen for us. So we decided to join her as she was one of the first in the queue for that, and thankfully the 4 of us got good seats at last that way. If we had waited for the official announcement, we wouldn't have! I think some people copied the printouts to bring more people, I have never seen a cinema so full so early!Reclaimed thanks to this site:

Sorry I slightly misunderstood your reply to Ms Thrifty.
Given what Ms Thrifty said I'm guessing she doesn't know about Quick Links and her subscribed threads (automatically achieving this by making a post or by manually requesting it) and how easy it is to find a thread once you've done this. It appears re-searching threads again & again is her method of locating her "old" threads.
Obviously finding a new one you've never seen before can only be done like this UNLESS someone else tells you about it - ie. a link in another thread.
I agree the first post in the CODES ONLY needs updating to reflect a NEW DISCUSSION thread if it hasn't (hopefully keeping the old link for "references purposes")
However finding the NEW thread is not exactly too difficult given that when heatherw_01 created it, she did (as always) made the LAST POST in the OLD thread a LINK TO THE NEW ONE before closing it.
I now see that your comment about making this thread a sticky and easier to find was an attempt to make it more visible to those that don't know about it BUT do find the Codes Only (because of its "greater prominence") and post discussion/questions there. Making this a sticky might reduce this "misuse" frequency but I doubt by very much, sadly a lot of people don't care and others are just too lazy.
Hopefully my last post may be of use to Ms Thrifty and others in finding previous posts of note

Sorry, the phrase (with "your" likeability scale referenced to the "rest of the population", which was my observation of the reaction by the rest of the audience) was just referring back to the context of my original post as to how I saw "most teenage to thirty-something females" relatively good and what appeared to be a more positive reception of the movie (will like it more) compared to "the rest of the population" (NON teenage to thirty-something females in the audience) reduced viewing enjoyment !
However now I'm intrigued as to what a dinney day is ?

"dinney day"
well to be honest lived in Portsmouth for a long time & dinney is a word they use for being a bit dim so having a day when I'm a bit thick!!!!
might not use the word anymore but they used to. I also have a terrible habit of refering to pacifiers/dummies as dodies which does get me some looks but again thats from my years in pompey.
The audience at Thurrock seemed more couples etc... there was only a few 30somethings & teens, but it does seem to be the case at Thurrock.Duct tape is like the force. It has a light side, a dark side, and it holds the world together."

Does anyone know why certain cinemas don't participate in the free screenings? Our closest Cineworld (Didcot), for instance, has never has a freebie as far as I know. The ones at the Odeons (in Oxford) are quite rare too. I will look at the list and see 40 or 50 Cineworlds listed, but no Didcot.
We like freebies in Oxfordshire too!

I've got a ticket booked for tomorrow to see Milk in Manchester through Momentum Pictures Previews, but never got an email reminding me to come, and I only took a tiny printscreen of the confirmation page.. Anything I can do?!0
