• Niece and her friends enjoyed this film.

Although the crux of the story is centred around the title, there is a good interwoven sub-story that makes it an interesting enough film for age groups beyond the realms of teens to be able to watch and possibly enjoy.

Put it this way, I enjoyed it, and I'm far from the target audience.

Anyone seen this film yet? Rotten tomatoes gives it a thumbs down.........
maybe thats why it's free... the quality of free films tends to be shoddy - Hangover, Ghost Town House bunny etc all offered free recently..

  • Was also privileged to get tickets to see this.

What a scream - laugh out loud movie for both adults and children alike. Good family fun.

Saw the original TV series, which I also enjoyed.

Hope you enjoy it. But it's not a comedy. The book is like a documentation of her working through the book so unless they have written new comedy bits in it.. it won't be full of laughs. But a sweet and interesting tale all the same.

its described as a comedy drama and if you watch the trailer on the actual Julie&Julia site it does suggest its quite comical.

Hi guys just a few reminders

    EXCHANGING PERSONAL DETAILS

Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: For legal reasons I have to discourage swapping, gifting, buying and selling on the forum (please see this rule). While it can be a very useful way of saving money it relies on a certain amount of trust between members and as such can cause problems (and has in the past). If you have any questions about this policy please email abuse@moneysavingexpert.com

Also re the argument of posting up codes from magazines etc, these are widely available from other forums/sites. The cinema thread is for free screenings so we should be thankful of those who post these codes after spending their money. Remember this is a moneysaving site and as long as it is legal these codes are gratefully appreciated & allowed.

Finally this is supposed to be fun so

    Thanks guys :)

Reverbe, we get the picture, we know that you think the recent offerings are shoddy, we don't need you to continually repeat it. However, it isn't an opinion shared by the majority of preview goers. I know many people both male and female, of all age groiups, different cultures and from all over the UK who absolutely loved The Hangover. You didn't; fine that is your opinion-but we don't need to hear it ad infinitum.

Personally I have enjoyed a huge variety of films; many that I may not have seen had I have had to choose to pay for them and that includes Anvil; The Story of Anvil and several foreign language films such as Gomorah and Waltz with Bashir plus blockbusters such as Slumdog Millionaire, Australia, Star Trek and Bruno. I am extremely lucky to have seen so many previews over the past 18 months or so and have rarely been disappointed but then again, maybe I have a wider interest in a variety of genre than you. I have been disappointed with very few, for instance What Just Happened (the title says it all), a couple of French language films but not all and Revolutionary Road. However, I appreciate that others enjoyed the films that I wasn't struck on. Individuals are different and have differing points of view and I think that's great.

So please can you stop the banging on about 'shoddy films' just because you are bitter you missed out on tickets to Julie & Julia. Apart from anything, there is a good chance there will be another code or two for this film and I fervantly hope you manage to nab some tickets. Fingers crossed.

    Hi everyone :j

Regarding the screenings of 'Julie and Julia' I noticed in Marie Claire that 8 of the cinemas are providing pampering sessions before the screening. Any idea which cinemas these will be?

I think that will be a surprise. Like ours had strippers before one of the paid screenings of Mamma Mia....
