Free film preview tickets
Rex Features
This autumn, Marie Claire and Wellaflex Silvikrin celebrate women in film with a series of previews showcasing female talent. Our first is the acclaimed Julie & Julia starring Meryl Streep and Amy Adams, and Marie Claire has more than 1,000 free tickets to see it before it goes on nationwide release on 11 September.
Plus, in five selected cinemas, there will be an extra pampering experience to complete the perfect girls' night out.
The exclusive screenings will take place on 8 September in Vue cinemas at the locations listed below.
To redeem your ticket, CLICK HERE and input the special code: "XXXXX"
All about the film:
Based on Julie Powell's award-winning novel Julie & Julia: 365 Days, 524 Recipes, 1 Tiny Apartment Kitchen, this charming comedy follows one woman's year-log mission to rustle up every dish in Julia Child's famous cookery book, Mastering the Art of French Cooking. Novice cook Powell (played by Amy Adams) then spends each night blogging about the experience. But it's Meryl Streep who steals the show with her hilarious portrayal of endearingly eccentric chef Child.
Participating Vue cinemas:
Birmingham
Bolton
Bristol Cribbs
Camberley
Cheshire Oaks
Dublin
Edinburgh Ocean
Islington
Leeds Light
Leicester
Plymouth
Portsmouth
Reading
Romford
Sheffield
Shepherds Bush
Staines
Swansea
Watford
York
NB Thought I'd give you heads up on this one. Link not active yet. I will make code available as soon as I receive.Invented tradition: Couponology

Really don't know what to make of this:
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/health/healthnews/4537524/Cinema-tickets-offered-in-exchange-for-sexually-transmitted-infection-test.html
Instead of encouraging responsibility from the outset, irresponsible behaviour yet again is encouraged. Get your free cinema ticket for stupidly having unprotected (and presumably underage) sex.
Why not smoke at the same time, and get a free iPod.
Way to go Labour government - I somehow don't think so.
I remember in the 70's where kids would swear allegiance to some specific religion to get a free Mars bar (which I'm certainly not condoning), but this is taking things to extreme is it not.
How about rewarding children and adults alike for good, hard-working, honest behaviour. Obviously the Labour government thinks not.
There we were pouring over the Internet for codes, when all we really have to do is have an MSE orgy, and text in for free cinema tix, claiming to be our kid cousins or the likes. What absolute tripe. Decision makers? They obviously live at an ET postcode, then.Invented tradition: Couponology

:lmao: Tibbs, I'm definitely with you on that. I think the entire concept is completely ridiculous; not only can to get free tickets but free tests to go with that. What's next? Concert tickets with the first baby?
It's pathetic
Idk if the rule of double posting is the same on this forum as it is on otyersbso I just decided to edit my post rather than doing a whole new one
Yay got tickets for Bandslam (sook excited) and Julie and Julia! My luck is definitely changing!! Yeah!!!!0 -

Reverbe wrote:Tibbs thats really not fair on people like me who bought the magazine, read the book several years ago several times and have been dying to watch the film for ages... hope I manage to get a ticket before all the non MC readers swoop on them...
Please give genuine readers and fans of the book a little time before you give the code to the vultures on here. Thanks.
Dear Reverbe,
Codes for cinema previews are posted on the MSE thread, even for VIP seefilmfirst codes that some people have to pay for.
Why have you not complained about any of these?
If there is something you are unhappy about the set-up of the Cinema Code thread, then I'm afraid it is not me you need to address.
The code has been posted on several different websites now. Are you going to complain to every single one of them?
Perhaps you didn't notice, but someone else posted the code. Have you asked them why they posted the code?
I also do not appreciate you calling my fellow MSE'rs vultures.
Sincerely,
Tibbs.
[Edit to add additional information]:
This information was actually derived directly from the Marie Claire website. Once it is available there, the information enters the public domain. So, this isn't even an MSE problem. It is due to the fact that there is no restriction on the flow of information when something is posted on the Internet.Invented tradition: Couponology

Edit: good practice is to use your home email address when logging into SFF for very obvious reasons.0 -
