Hi guys,
I've noticed a lot of nasty comments being posted on the code thread. I'd ask people to please remember the forum etiquetteBE NICE TO OTHER MONEYSAVERS
Remember, MoneySaving should be fun. Everyone using these boards is here for the same reason, to save money. The site’s motto is “Please be nice to other MoneySavers”. It should go without saying, but please remember that when using this forum. Please report any abusive/offensive/racist comments to abuse@moneysavingexpert.com.
If people ask a question on the code thread it's not the end of the world. A simple polite pm to that person will suffice. If the Bg's notice a lot of chat going on we will post a reminder on the thread.
By users continually posting that 'this thread is only for codes' etc, they are doing the exact same thing as the person who might of asked a question. IE chatting on the thread.
Regarding a sticky we already have seven and the guidelines are to only have 5 or 6 maximum. However there is a link in the thread to this discussion thread. And once you've posted in this thread you're subscribed.
Thanks:):hello:0 -
Some guy started a CHAT post saying he was sick of being told not to post in the thread (its been deleted) and he was a thread contrbutor for some time or words to that effect, but by his name it said "1st" post so obviously telling porkies somewhere!!!!
I may be thinking of the wrong person but I think the guy in the post you are referring to said that he had been subscribed to the thread for some time. You do not have to contribute to a thread to be subscribed to it.0 -
The whole purpose of his message was to be nasty and have a dig at me, as I often remind people not to post in there unless it was for codes. I took offence to the posting if I am honest.
There was no other reason to post that on the codes thread but to provoke.Never argue with a fool, they will lower you to their level and then beat you with experience.........!!!:rotfl::T0 -
http://www.sky.com/portal/site/skycom/mysky/perks
Did you even bother looking? It's half way down the page on the right hand side. You need to register with them.
I truly don't see the need for rudeness, if you don't want to answer well then ignore the request . As a matter of fact I looked everywhere I can see the Skyperks but not the competition for the film.
Just leave it someone else with a bit of manners will tell... Meanwhile thanks for the bother. Thanks to those who help us to win !0 -

I had a lot of trouble at first and I did try technical help, but that didn't cover anything so simple; I also sent a PM to one of the moderators (I think) but got no reply. It can be really difficult to understand how the whole site works and if the terminology is gobbledegook to you (I'd never heard of a "sticky", so any distinction between that and a "thread" was meaningless), you're really groping in the dark. Members are obviously keen, so it would be nice if they could be helped, and pointed politely in the right direction, rather than getting a virtual rebuke for a genuine mistake. And yes, I don't know how a "PM" works, so could someone please explain that? Does it mean the recipient gets your e-mail address, or is it all anonymised via MSE? NB: It's a smaller community, but posters on FMUK have been very helpful to this novice, so if puzzled people can find that site, it may help them. Thank you in advance for any helpful replies!
Hello Ms thrifty, many of the posters on FMUK are from here also I understand it to be a spin-off thread if you like.
A PM is sent by clicking on the user name so if you wanted to send me a pm click on my name HM71 a list of options should appear one of them being send a private message. click on that and you will send me a message via MSE no e-mail addresses etc..
I to had difficulty when first statrting out on this forum but mainly through trial & error i have got there I use the search option a hell of a lot & you will find if you click search then advanced search you can put in your username and it will show you all the threads you have contributed too.Duct tape is like the force. Hi Jules, Please don't take this the wrong way but a thought I might just make a little point... I subscribe to the codes thread and everytime someone writes a post regardless of what it is for I get an e-mail to tell me to check the thread, so everytime you often remind people I get an e-mail for that too.
Now I saw your first reminders & to be honest thought they were a little sharp & looked at your post count seeing you were a newbie. initially I thought hang-on cheeky newbie making sharp remarks on the codes thread, but then I took a breath & I felt that you were just starting out & to cut you some slack.
I do think that perhaps a politely worded PM would be better & also a little patience with newbies- we were all newbies once.Duct tape is like the force. It has a light side, a dark side, and it holds the world together."

Hi, offer for the film via skyperks is on the skyperks page on the right about halfway down, It is a picture of Brad Pitt & his co-star in an embrace. you have to be registered and login to the skyperks page to apply.
I hope that helps.
it is also very unlike Mr cow to be so blunt so maybe they are having a troubled day- always find them very happy & helpful.Duct tape is like the force. It has a light side, a dark side, and it holds the world together."

I dont think asking people to post in the discussion thread was sharp, unless people are over sensitive, I do think a post having a dig at me in the codes thread was not sharp but rude, can you give me a valid reason why that was acceptable behaviour on the codes thread, and secondly I have been a member of the site 5 months now so don't think that qualifies me as a newbie either. I may not have made lots of posts, but I log onto the site every day for long periods of time.
A final point, whenever I posted my requests, I had alot of people thanking me for saying this, which made me think that obviously others thought the same way and were fed up with it too.Never argue with a fool, they will lower you to their level and then beat you with experience.........!!!:rotfl::T0 -

Thanks for the thanks, but fyi I'm not "rude" - I was simply asking if you'd bothered looking as it was clearly displayed on the Sky Perks main page with a picture of the film in question. Calm down........."One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."0 -
On a different note I just found this, they were films that made a difference . It is paid, though!
Accompanies the exhibition Picasso: Challenging the Past
Picasso repeatedly turned back to the traditional theme of the artist and model, exploring the dualities of man/woman, self/other and vitality/mortality. The women in his life were said to have been the driving force behind much of his artwork. The films in this season explore and reflect on the darker side of these relationships.
A short film will be shown before each feature – discover rarely seen classics and new work in film and animation.
