  • I was registered with FF, using my work e-mail, a couple of years ago. All I ever got was loads of promotional e-mails, never any offers. I had huge difficulty unsubscribing (the links these companies include often fail to work, strangely!) and can't recall how I did it in the end, but unless they've changed, you're probably better off without them. More recently I've registered with many others mentioned on MSE, but I've had no contact of any sort, let alone codes - though others have since posted codes from these companies, and frequently...

Didn't get the usual daily e-mail from the "codes only" thread (from last night) this morning. Did anyone else not receive it, or am I alone in that? When I checked, the only new one was "Nick and Norah", whch is a bit too young for me.

I am very new to this how do you subscribe to the codes only thread email??
  • For those that are keeping score I went to see Milk at the Greenwich Odeon on Monday and it was only a third full.

We were made to wait until 5 minutes before the screening was due to start until we could go in as I think they had issues with the regular ticketing. The front desk wasn't open and they were issuing receipts instead of regular tickets.

I digress... the film was excellent and Sean Penn appeared to do justice to the true story of the openly gay polititian, Harvey Milk. I wasn't aware of the story but the pace of the movie was good although I was surprised at the lack of depiction of opposition to Harvey's sexuality, which I'm sure was rife at the time.

Just to thank everyone here for the continued codes for free movies. I'm unemployed at the moment so going to the cinema for me is a luxury. Getting out once in a while to escape the reality of being jobless really helps.

Life beyond voluntary work scares me, but what else is there?

This Saturday 17 th Jan 09 The Independent gives the original soundtrack/DVD of the Frost/ Nixon...interesting !
On another subject yesterday I went to see The Black Balloon, a non sanitised story about autism, it leaves my hero Dustin Hoffmann wanting.
If you are going to today's screening be warned!
    The acting is superb!
Thanks to those who help us to win !

That was not a discussion, that was an update about a code, which has saved me a few minutes so I know not to click through using that paticular code.
And also can I suggest that you, and all those who constantly post telling people their posts don't belong on this thread, to PM the people who are using the forum incorrectly rather than writing it on here, so you're not adding to the inappropriate discussion!

My apologies for the discussion, this post wil be removed in due course!

    .........

Just to clarify, this is NOT FROM the Frost/Nixon (2008) film.

It is the original May 1977 interview that the film is based on.
    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0261639/

    ..namely the Watergate confession

The Watergate section was compiled over 2 days when David Frost interviewed disgraced President Richard Nixon and questioned him for almost 29 hours on everything from Vietnam to China, from abuse of power to the Final Days, with the most tense and gripping sessions on Watergate.

Incidentally David Frost has "slammed" the film.
"Veteran journalist David Frost has called Frost/Nixon 'fiction' because movie chiefs changed some of the key historical facts for entertainment value."

I suppose it would be interesting to compare the two.

There is no 'catch' per se, but all I will advise you of is to get there early, depending on which cinema you go to of course. The central London ones always fill up very quickly, and inevitably lead to quite a few people being turned away. I really think they need to check people's ID at those screenings as, in addition to giving out more tickets than there are seats, I'm pretty sure some people print duplicates.
For those that are keeping score I went to see Milk at the Greenwich Odeon on Monday and it was only a third full.

This is very frustrating as I would have preferred that screening but obviously the tickets 'ran out' immediately. I've been there before and it's never, ever full. They really ought to allocate the oversubscribed tickets-to-seats ratio accordingly.
