Is it just me, or is anyone else TOTALLY FED UP with the way the Codes Thread is going at the moment - I understand if you're new, but is it really that hard to understand???
  • why isnt this thread a sticky just beneath the codes thread? that way people might see this one.

    hmm... intriguing.

Thats a very good idea, I'm not sure whether its been suggested before though. Do you want to PM the person in charge of this thread or I dont mind doing it?

Actually, I think that is the problem, people just don't "see" the discussion thread so it doesnt "click".

I was on here a few days ago saying that it would be a good idea if the discussion thread was a sticky - but no-one else seemed to agree with me at the time. Since then, the amount of people posting on the wrong thread has become ridiculous!

I agree with you that a lot of the posters probably just do not see the right thread. It didn't occur to me to e-mail the person in charge of the thread (nor indeed would I know how to go about it) - so thanks a lot for doing that. :T

Lets hope someone is willing to at least try this suggestion and see if it makes life easier for those of us who have subscrbed to the codes thread.
  • I think it's a case both of people not seeing the discussion thread, as suggested, and of being new. I had a lot of trouble at first and I did try technical help, but that didn't cover anything so simple; I also sent a PM to one of the moderators (I think) but got no reply. It can be really difficult to understand how the whole site works and if the terminology is gobbledegook to you (I'd never heard of a "sticky", so any distinction between that and a "thread" was meaningless), you're really groping in the dark. Members are obviously keen, so it would be nice if they could be helped, and pointed politely in the right direction, rather than getting a virtual rebuke for a genuine mistake. And yes, I don't know how a "PM" works, so could someone please explain that? Does it mean the recipient gets your e-mail address, or is it all anonymised via MSE? NB: It's a smaller community, but posters on FMUK have been very helpful to this novice, so if puzzled people can find that site, it may help them. Thank you in advance for any helpful replies!
