it is also very unlike Mr cow to be so blunt so maybe they are having a troubled day- always find them very happy & helpful.

    Thanks :iloveyou: ;)

Anyway - back to film discussion, I'm quite excited as I have 3 films lined up for next week. Usually we only get one or two per month down here. It seems like there are quite a few codes floating about.

I dont think asking people to post in the discussion thread was sharp, unless people are over sensitive, I do think a post having a dig at me in the codes thread was not sharp but rude, can you give me a valid reason why that was acceptable behaviour on the codes thread, and secondly I have been a member of the site 5 months now so don't think that qualifies me as a newbie either. I may not have made lots of posts, but I log onto the site every day for long periods of time.

A final point, whenever I posted my requests, I had alot of people thanking me for saying this, which made me think that obviously others thought the same way and were fed up with it too.

Hi, I did say don't take it the wrong way, I don't think it was right for others to be rude but I have been a member of the site nearly 2 years and am still considered a relative newbie! there are people on here who have been members for years & have thousands of posts!

I am sure people do thank you but I was merely trying to point out that although you find it frustrating when you login & see irrelevant posts it is equally annoying to get e-mails informing you aof a new post to find it is someone else writing a non code post- we do have moderators who do a good job, It has been a cause of irritation for a long time but it is better to PM someone to inform rather than add another post.

I wasn't aiming in anyway to upset you, just to try & see it from anothers point, thats all.

I think something like this has been tried before- unfortunately it is an easy mistake to post on the code thread any questions you may have & so as new people come along it will keep happening- it is just a case of being patient

Thanks, and no offence taken, I was just wound up when I saw that someone had posted something on that thread just to be rude to me!

  • I seem to have kicked up a bit of a hornets nest - apologies! I merely posted that we didn't want those messages either, as I know loads of people that love the codes board, and like to get the email updates, and it's often more frustrating seeing a "don't post questions" post, rather than the odd newbie making a mistake!

I shan't post the lengthy and slightly threatening private message I got from one of the more "enthusiastic" posters, but suffice to say I think the point has been made, both by myself and others. I hope we can all go back to enjoying the thread.
