They say that every man has his price; you've just revealed yours. Mine is somewhat higher and is in a currency that you would barely understand.

I think I understand the currency you desire. I also see the irony of those that feel the need to loudly proclaim their own "self-respect".
The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, but wiser people so full of doubts.

Agreed, don't waste your time trying to educate the "can't pay - won't pay" brigade, your advice will fall on deaf ears.

Hi there Mr P. Giving up already? We've barely started!

You should know better. What, feel like an arguement to lighten your Friday night Proliant? The guy is a fool talking such rubbish and if you follow suit then my opinion of you has just dramatically dropped because it is absolutely ridiculous to sit there and come out with such rubbish.

I guarantee each and every person on this site (and in the world for that matter) would gladly allow their debt to be written off if their card company wrote saying "keep it, we don't want you to pay us back". So what exactly is the difference with your rubbish attempt to justify yourself?

Yea, I think you should as well but if you do not have to then why do it? It aint rocket science, if you can get something for free then you do it - otherwise why are we on a Money Saving forum in the first place?

are you referring to me or halloway? My self respect consists of doing whatever suits me and my family best, not the banks cos I know for a fact they would not do the same for me! If that means I could get debt written off then dam right i'll take it - yes please!

cheers thought it was but didn't want to start fighting with everyone on this thread. Is it me or am I missing something here? Did Proliant just imply that he doesn't like free money? He has an ethical duty to stand by the same bank that will probably screw him over in later life and refuse the free money...!! In favour of the banks!!!:rotfl:

Proliant, are you for real or just trying to wind me up?

Why not sit back and listen to yourself, my god you're unreal. At least justify yourself, would love to know how you'd react if your card company wrote and said don't bother paying us - keep it. You're trying to imply you'd refuse and demand you pay the debt.... hahahahahahahahaha you crack me up. To say I used to respect you, wow. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
I do not wan’t your respect or to even communicate with you or any of your alias, if a card company wrote to me and said that I could keep the money that they lent me then I would accept it as a gift - they are willing to give me the money, not me stealing it from them.

Since when has the world of computer software design been about what people want? This is a simple question of evolution. The day is quickly coming when every knee will bow down to a silicon fist, and you will all beg your binary gods for mercy.

I don't have a problem with the "if you borrow it, then you damn well pay it back" attitude that so many people on this forum have. However, when you see other people getting their debts wiped, I'm sorry, but that's me converted. I don't see why I shouldn't get mine wiped if other people are too. In the end everyone invoking this method to get their debt wiped will just add to CC companies costs = APRs up for the rest of us. Why miss out?
