Thanks will do0

Thank you to everyone who has made an effort to post a useful reply. To those who called me a loser, an especial big thank you.
I'm still confused, although from what I read the CC company cannot enforce the debt, but neither are they obliged to write it off. I certainly don't want defaults or ccj's so I will follow my original plan and pay it off.

isn't it similar to:
If you lost your birth certificate, you have no right to live !All I ask is the chance to prove that money can't make me happy.0 -

Best of luck to you Craig
I suppose it depends on whether you want a fight that may go on for years or just pay it off and get on with your life - no loser would have that choice in the first place
Big respect to you :A0 -

NO. Nothing fake about CAG whatsoever. It does and can work. Basically, if you took out credit before Jan 2007 then there is a high (80%) chance that your CCA is wrong and as a result you can write the debt off. Don't pay a company though, use the advice and letters from CAG... If after jan 07 then chances are the CCA will be rectified as they realised this little flaw would be costly. They forgot to add APR's and interest rates to the CCA which renders it unenforceable....
CAG is the expert at payment avoidance and a very good site with useful info. This site is money saving, so people will not agree with you wanting to get free money - see MABLE post above! (CAG is different altogether).2010 - year of the troll

Sorry not able to help. However I find it interesting that customers are only concerned about this after they have spent on the card. If I had a suspicious
mind I could think it was just another ploy to get out paying ones debts. Im sure however in your case this would not be the case!
Even if it was, so what?
Why does that bother you, jealousy? Sour grapes? Jones'?
Sorry but i'm all for it. If the lender cannot draft a legally binding document with the money they have accumulated from us all these years when they did have the power to hold us to ransom then they deserve the losses. So what if they charge me more, you know what? If I don't like it i'll go elsewhere!
It is so annoying when people preach about the right thing, listen we are being americanised and that means we have to get used to suing everyone for everything - if you don't then you'll be walked over in life. I say go for it, if you can get any debt written off then great news - bargain! :j It will teach the banks to do things right for once (sorry that is just impossible)2010 - year of the troll

N-I-D its just my sence of humour as I have several threads in that won forum at CAG myself and just wouldn't want small minded people putting off others from applying their legal rights.0

Hi
I have read several web sites advertising 'Clear your Credit Card Debt'
Apprently they offer a service for an up front fee, usually, for about £500. They review your credit card agreement with your lender and provided it was started before 2007 they are able to reclaim/wipe out your existing balance. They say that there is some legal loop holes which the lenders have not complied with. This service is portaryed as a 'no win no fee' service.
I was just wondering if anyone has actually had sucess with one of these or is it to good to be true!
