why is she asking about keyloggers for, have i missed something

She came on a while back asking about them. She was advised to NOT use them as theres very few legit ones (if any), and there was a bit of a 'morality' issue

She went and put one on and has since had all SORTS of computer problems then expected people to help her out. Which 'was' tried, but ultimately failed as she'd switched off all AV software to allow it to run

Shes now asking about the zonealarm software (Of which ive personally never heard of), specifically for the problem 'she' created against OUR better judgement

We await the next response................ :p

Sorry DatabaseError. I actually meant to click quote and not thanks there, but thanks for returning the compliment. As far as I can tell, Leopard is a very nice guy, if a little too keen on his apple stuff. I really see no reason that macs and pc's can't live together in harmony, working together to a common goal of making computers more usable to all. Now, what about Conor.

Leopard, your 'ratio' is about 2:1 mine is 3:1, ...yours is better :( (never paid attention til today)...I nearly added a 'thanks' to you post above, but that would widen the chasm :)

Must be all those tight@r$ed Redmond Rednecks you hang around with. :D

Mac users are so much more civilised and appreciative. :A

Anyway, I've now "Thanks"ed you: noblesse oblige - I can afford that luxury. :p

    Timbin,

I'm sure free4440273 will be happy to send you an abusive PM if you ask him to: it seems to be what he fantasises about.

As a result of how you voted in the last three General Elections,
you'd now be better off living in one.

I really hope that was accidental. Must be those clumsy mac fingers.;) I seem to remember you got involved in a dispute stemming from this before, with the result of someone calling you Leotard. Not a bad move, but notice that I'm not jumping to any conclusions here.

As for the abusive PM's, I'd rather hear from and impartial source, I hate listening to horribly biased and one sided arguments.

We'll have less of that foreign talk around here, Queens English only, ideally with a Yorkshire (God's own county, don't you know?!) accent!

It was his clumsy Windows fingers: he was using a Microsoft keyboard. :D

(And, as the Administrators discovered from their logs, I had never sent free4440237 a PM in my life, let alone a series of abusive ones - nor any to anyone else. It was a fabricated libel with malicious intent. That's why I'm still here and why he owes everyone in the forum an apology for trying deliberately to deceive them.)

But, but...I'm writing this on a (Mac-hacked) Wind and clicking the button in this "Thanksfest" orgy with a Hewlett-Packard mouse.

BTW. Why the hell can't you keep that appalling John Smith's  in Yorkshire?

We call it "Whippet Pi$$" hereabouts, when it has the nerve to appear.

i might go around and take back all the thanks i have given Leopard now... dissing Yorkshire like that...

and if people don't take advice, and then want us to help repair what they've caused themselves, personally, i have nothing against that. We're here because we want to help, and also, it is our own time.

Spending an hour replying to someone, trying to repair something that people have told them not to do, isn't "our" fault. They were warned, and now, things are a bit screwy..

the put things back on topic a bit, my suggestion is to rebuild the PC back to factory settings, using the discs it came with, or the rebuild software on the hidden partition (if it was shop bought!). then you'll have a brand new windows install, with nothing on it, put some AV software on, put some parental control software on, and set up user accounts which are limited, and then the parental control software will limit the kids with anything you want to.

surely that is the best way to do things?

Mark, you are so wrong! the solution is to follow your advice..then install a ring of security cameras around the keyboard, no more nasty keylogging software, and the OP can watch her son [strike]pronsurfing[/strike] browsing the safe internet at her leisure :)
