I sent a 100g parcel to china with Royal mail it came out at under £2. Problem is it was supposed to be a 5 day service and its now been 2 months and it still hasn't arrived, or been returned to me. RM don't do tracking or signed for - in China. - I cant find the receipt so I dont think I can claim compensation either.
Anyone know how to get a A4 envelope cheaply and reliably to china.
Tracked and insured would be helpful.0 -
My son has just sold his phone on ebay, and despite specifying a UK buyer only, someone from the USA has bought it.
So we're now trying to find the cheapest way to send it. Royal Mail are out as they'll only give compensation of 100 1st class stamps if anything goes wrong, which is less than half the value of the phone.
Parcelforce will do it with adequate compensation, for £30. This still seems expensive though, as the package weighs under 600g.
Does anyone know of a cheaper way of sending it please?0 -

Try collectmyparcel.com under £30 (need to register for 5% discount) insurance options available too. Goes via DHL with Tracking.0 -

no its compensation to the value of 100 1st class stamps0 -
Jordanryan, thanks very much for that. It's the cheapest yet, but still £23.50, which is a high proportion of the cost of the phone in the first place
.
Any other ideas or suggestions anyone please?
Custardy, you are right of course that it is compensation to the value of the stamps, but that still doesn't change the fact that it is nowhere near the amount of compensation required.0 -

They've quoted me £71 to send an 11 kg parcel to Spain size 100 x 30 x 30 cm. Does that sound reasonable?
Any pointers in a different direction would be welcome.
Thanks for any help.
Hi, We regularly use Express Parcel Deliveries - they use DPD / Interlink - for European deiveries max. size 100cm x 50 x 50 and weight 30kg. Spain is £25.99. They are on the first page.0 -

Before you send the phone are you sure that this is a genuine buyer and that payment is actually in your paypal account?
My First thoughts are "Nigeria" scam
If you specified that you would only sell to a UK buyer you do not have to agree to send to the US where, as you are already aware, you would only be able to receive compensation of £39 should the item go missing or be damaged.
You can report the buyer as an unwelcome bidder0 -

HI, they arent expecting the same postage cost as for the UK are they ? you dont have to stand for that, as the postage cost would have been for UK not for overseas.0 -
Does anybody use LowCostParcel service recently? It looks like they are in chaos recently- close down their website, and don't reply any email.
I booked two parcels from their website, though already got the airway bill labels, which should be collected tomorrow. If it failed collection, anybody has good suggestion how I can claim my refund? I paid through Google Checkout.0 -

Hi
I'd hope if you've got the relevant Airway Bill Labels etc then it'll be booked with the Carrier and (fingers crossed) all will be ok. Only thing I can think of otherwise if not collected is to get on to Google Checkout and see if they payment can be reversed? Services/Goods not recieved type of thing?
Keep my fingers crossed for you.0
