Cheap Parcel Delivery Thread Mk4

Just letting you all know, I actually used sendingparcels.com the other day after finding out they offered a location to drop off your parcel rather than waiting in all day, as deanos said it does beat hanging around all day. I got a good price and the parcel was delivered on time. Will use them again especially as more postal strikes are coming!0

Hello, all registered here just now(I couldnt find the intro thread
) and have been looking through the first 5 pages or so of this thread before I got really bored
I currently use ccl-logistics.com for my computer deliveries(I need £300-£500 compensation-eBay
) and I also use parcel2go.com for smaller parcels and am thinking of using them more often as I had sold a PVR with a hard drive that weighed 2.49kg. With the royalmail, it cost me £21.65(special delivery) with £200 compensation but when I had a look at their site and it was £12.64 with £200 compensation but only saw that recently as its quite a new service that they are offering. I have previously used them for for mainly DHL
Just wondering, can I cut my costs even further instead of using these sites. Are there any other sites? I used to go to boxby.co.uk and then that linked to CCL, but now they link to someone else who are much more expensive than CCL

Theres a new(ish) company called https://www.myhermes.co.uk that seem quite cheap but havent looked at all the comparisions.0
-
That seems good, but they only deal with "UK residential addresses" so not the best of options if my computer business actually kicks off and I end up having a business address. Their prices are however cheap, but you dont know the courier they use, unless they deliver themselves. I myself am getting a parcel delivered to me tomorrow by fastwaycouriers.co.uk but they dont mention anything about compensation unfortunately
What I like about CCL is that I can send multiple parcels to the same house for the same price. If I could get the same sort of thing elsewhere, but cheaper and still as reliable, all help would be appreciatedIts not really a must, but its nice to have such a service
After looking on the boxby forums, it seems that parcelplease are a sub company of CCL0 -
Hermes use housewifes in cars to deliver parcels, they also deliver for Next and Grattan, not sure how safe you parcels are in someones garage.0

I've used myhermes for N.I. deliveries as they are cheap, but take approx. 7 days. I just let buyer know in advance of a potential delay.
Use the 20% discount trick, works well.

Hermes charge 98p for a signature , if you dont pay it then it will be left in a safe place, which could be anywhere, not sure if they are liable if it goes missing, dosent sound very good to me0

I always pay for the sig. Still cheap for N.I. though.
Wouldn't use them for Mainland UK.

Thanks for the replies however I do need a quick delivery service(its not the best of things to use myhermes if they take 7 days) especially as parts need to be ordered first for computers to be built. Also, I would of course need some compensation as well
I saw a competitor send PC's(Parcelforce 48) and only give £150 insurance. Is it worth the risk to send for cheaper to send items like that, because then I could just use parcel2go.com and get postage for £12.64
It would also be nice if anyone knows of a cheap courier(quick) that will deliver to the scottish highlands, channel Islands and N. Ireland. Royalmail do it for £21.65, but its not really ideal0 -
lol, so no one knows of a cheaper site?
Also, no ones answered my question about risk and compensation
How often do parcels reach their destination for other people in good working order. In my case, its been 98% of them time
Whats it like for others. Would be very nice to save money wherever I can
