Cheap Parcel Delivery Thread Mk4

  • Our problem with DHL was that we lived in a rural area, and it was 4 miles off the route in any direction. Basically if there were only one or two parcels on the van for delivery to our village that day we simply got bumped to the next day (or day after).

But then, the guys delivering are being paid pennies, and they're not even covering their fuel, let alone their time by delivering to us, so I can kind of see where they're coming from. But fact is, it's not what you've paid for.

Basically, once your outside of the big towns & cities using subbies for the multidrop system just doesn't make a lot of sense, (unless the subby can cover all the parcel carriers).
  • Help please :o

We've just had a buyer from the netherlands buy £48 worth of stuff, and because of the way we'd put the postage prices they've only paid £14.75 for p+p. :(

Obviously not happy about just sending via airmail at that value, so we need a signature.

To make it worse they want it sent asap as it's a birthday present. (oh and they have been registered for 5 years and no feedback from the last year.)
I'm tempted to just refund, but wondered if anyone could help before I do.

    Thanks. :)
This is my opinion. There are many others like it but this is mine

International, we just didn't expect anyone to buy 8 at once. :o

It's only 1.7kg, so there are a few options if we could get to a post office, but it would be a bit of a problem to. (and of course it's just outside the compensation level as well.)

I've just got a very helpful PM, so probably sorted, but I'd still like ideas just in case. (this forum is great in a crisis :) )

  • At a guess I would say with freightsearch, a parcel to Holland will cost £15.

I'm trying to send an item which weighs about 50kg and its dimensions are 100 x 100 x 50cm. Had a look at the first page but the 'Parcel Marketer' link doesn't work anymore and TNT are quoting huge amounts when going direct through their website. DHL is currently the cheapest at around £80. Anyone know of anything cheaper?
  • I regularly send parcels to Australia...standard box size 65x50x30 with a weight of 15KG....

I have been looking through these great threads - is it correct to assume that transglobal is the cheapest for this type of parcel (singularly and bulk) ?

    Thanks in advance

  • I'm in the process of selling some second hand alloy wheels and need to get a reasonably priced secure courier who deals with bulky items, can anybody recommend one?

    Thanks

  • I'm a fairly new Ebay seller, i'm going to be selling lot of clothes I don't wear anymore. Can anybody suggest the most reliable and cheapest way to send the packets/parcels to the buyers? I would prefer to have them collected from my house (in Milton Keynes) and delivered direct to the UK buyers. The packets/parcels will probably weigh under 2kg, probably no more than 1kg each. I will probably sell about 150 to 200 clothing items in total, 10 to 20 per week.
