    Are Parceldrop and Parcelcheap reputable and reliable? The items I send are worth several hundred pounds - it needs to be a good service. Has anybody reading this used these companies?

    Don't know about Parceldrop but I wouldn't trust Parcelcheap as there is no address nor T&S on their website.

    I have a parcel to send. It is 100cm x 75cm x 70cm. It only weighs 13kg. Can anyone help me find a service that will do this for me without costing a fortune - I am going dizzy looking at the different companies in this forum and I dont know which ones to trust. Anyone with any experience sending big packages like this?

    Try https://www.fastwaycouriers.co.uk . They seem to have low rates even for larger parcels.

    I would go for Interparcel and if you use Quidco it would come to £7.63 inc VAT (Interparcel Economy with UPS). They should normally deliver it by the end of next working day.
    You can also add extra insurance if you need it.

    Check here on Parceldrop

    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?p=14767103&highlight=www.parceldrop.co.uk#post14767103.

    You can decide yourself whether trust them or not.

    Funny thing their main service is with DPD the same as Parcelcheap.

    Strange coincidence...

    I rang this company. They seemed to lose interest when I told them I wasn't a business. They said they would call back in 5 minutes and that was the last I heard from them. I have sent these large boxes using Parcel Force before and never had one returned, but they are a lot bigger than allowed really - I don't want a massive surcharge. There are a lot of conflicting opinions about which companys are good/ bad on here and its getting more difficult to decide the more I read - I thought it would be the other way around! I want to be sure before booking a delivery as the contents are worth up to £1000 and if they turned out dodgy I think it would finish me off! I think I am going to carry on sending my oversize boxes with Parcel Force and keep my fingers crossed!

    I used use Interparcel and still use them occasionally, had few parcels damaged but company always pays compensation if the parcel is insured, highest they paid was £350. They have an insurance cover up to £1000 but you need to check with them if your goods are covered or not.
    Alternatively simply use Parcel Force

    Thanks for reply. Unfortunately I sell antique chairs so they aren't covered by the insurance. Cheapest site that looks trustworthy is payperparcel. They quote just under £40 for DHL 48 hour. Parcel Force is about £17, but as I said, thats a bit of a risk due to my parcel being too big. Don't know if my customers will be put off having to fork out around £50 p&p......
  • HI I havent read all this thread so sorry if its been said before but we use parcel2go.com always done a good job

    Please don't rely on advice from Ludwip.www.fastwaycouriers.co.uk was a lazy recommendation based on nothing more than a quick Internet search. Ludwip uses Interparcel who are a good company, however that's about the only bit of sense you will get from him. If you compare all the couriers DPD allow the greatest volume for a standard parcel so they are your best bet if you want to save money. Parcelcheap offer DPD service at the cheapest rate, they will insure you up to £1000 for an extra £6 but you have to email them to get this added to your order. If your parcel volume is over 0.5 cubic meters then www.parceldrop.co.uk or www.interparcel.com probably offer the best deals available.

    Please don't risk sending without insurance just in case your parcel gets lost. Rely on your own packaging rather than damage insurance as majority of the time the courier will only payout if a parcel is lost. Be aware your parcel is more likely to be damaged & insurance invalidated if you send parcels that are over the max allowed size. Also be aware Parcelforce insurance does not cover antiques that are more than 100 years old.

    Which is the best one for sending laptops with?
    [FONT=&quot] Below are the best deals available for UK parcel delivery, all companies are recommended because they offer a good price & service.

    the best price will depend on your parcel dimensions, volume & how much insurance you require. :

    parcel2go = £7.81 for DHL 1-3 day with £50 insurance, printer required
    100cm max length, 25kg max weight, 0.14 cubic meters max volume
    price for same day collection is £8.04, above price if you book 1 day in advance.

    payperparcel = £7.99 for DHL 1-3 day with £100 insurance, printer required
    120cm max length, 30kg max weight, 0.17 cubic meters max volume

    p4d = £8.04 for DHL 1-2 day with £50 insurance,
    120cm max length, 30kg max weight, 0.18 cubic meters max volume

    shippingmanager = £8.04 for DHL 1-2 day with £50 insurance,
    120cm max length, 30kg max weight, 0.18 cubic meters max volume

    interparcel = £8.04 for UPS 1-2 day with £50 insurance ,
    250cm max length, 30kg max weight, 0.18 cubic meters max volume, printer required

    interparcel = £9.24 for UPS 1-2 day with £50 insurance ,
    250cm max length, 35kg max weight, 0.18 - 0.21 cubic meters max volume, printer required

    parcelcheap = £9.50 for DPD next day with £100 insurance,
    200cm max length, 30kg max weight, 0.5 cubic meters max volume

    www.parcel2go.com have the cheapest standard rate with a DHL 1-3 day service if you book 1 day in advance. The cheapest for same day collection is payperparcel. You have to print labels to use the parcel2go & payperparcel service. Shippingmanager offer a 2.5% discount if you pay by bank transfer so that would make the price £7.84. Parcelcheap use next day DPD & except parcels up to 200cm in length & a max volume of 0.5 cubic meters. Interparcel allow parcel volume up to 0.24 cubic meters & max weight 40kg for their UPS service but any volume over 0.21 or weight over 35kg increases to £10.13. Payperparcel except parcels with a length greater than 120cm but the price increases to £15.97.
