Cheap Parcel Delivery Thread Mk4

  • FWIW I sent 3 parcels via P2G on Wednesday using their Economy delivery service at a cost of £7.42 per parcel. The service is advertised as a 24 - 72 Hours service but I can confirm that all 3 parcels were delivered yesterday within 24 hours of collection.
I have always supported armitage in the past, but for P2G to be left off the list for the reasons he gives is silly to say the least!
They are offering the cheapest DHL service regardless of their size/monopoly.

As a consumer, I have to go with the cheapest and most reliable service.
P2G are the only company that are offering me the service I require at present.
I used freightsearch a while back and whilst the DHL guy came to collect, he refused to take the parcel because "it was for the other DHL guy to collect"

I had put my own labels on etc. (I have a yellow book) and seemingly that meant he couldn't collect it!

I contacted freightsearch and I have to admit they got back to me straight away and they explained that had they known that I was a regular DHL customer, that they would have booked it via another service. The parcel was collected the next day.

Regardless of that, it still meant that I had waited for a collection that never took place and my customer had to wait an extra day for delivery.

    It's swings and roundabouts really.

As far as trust is concerned, give me P2G anyday.

We all try to save a few pennies and use the cheapest delivery option but as experience has told me time and time again, the cheapest option is not always the best option.

To date I am owed money from more than a couple of these so called 'service providers' that have gone belly up andthat makes me angry!

  • i to have used parcel2go today, all collected fine, just a couple of points, not sure if i need to mention them but as a newbie on here thought id give my experience a mention.
the only down side i have with parcel2 go, it seems to get in a bit of a muddle sometimes leaving site to go to paypal to add funds, the first couple of times i missed to print the labels off, but think i have the hang of it now, and that is just my other point, on the labels it tells you to print off for dhl, the jd oo oo number on parcel 2 go labels is different to the ones the dhl driver put on., any way thats my experience,
send quite a few parcels so often try the new companys just a parcel or 2 at a time to start with.
now im not judging or trying to spam for any companys, but i have found interparcel very good, parcelbrokers very good, and you can speak to someone there and they are quick to respond to emails, parcelcheap found them good as i also did think courier.
some of the above may now not be so good on price now as they was and ialways try and shop around.
i may be alone but my experience with freightsearch was very poor, but they did refund me after a series of non collections..
i would like to thank the thread and the site , i have gained much advice about where to look and who to use for whatever size or weight i need, lets keep updating and find out whats cheapest and most of all whats best.
as i have found out in the past "not all that glistens is gold.
keep up the good work. it is appreciated by me anyway

I fully agree with you RED*RED*WINE.

I'm not saying that parcel2go have bad service but they are keep spamming this forum and in my opinion it's unfair as decent company wouldn't try to market themselves this way.

    Do you think it's ethical?
