    Essentially one of the biggest re-sellers are not happy that they don't have exposure they want and dream of utilising their huge brand awareness to simply smother everyone else. Just another form of market control that only the biggest can wield.

    So you are not going to add the cheapest providor onto the list because they are too big, instead of giving people the choice and letting them decide themselves you are doing it for them.

    Should we ban all posts about bargains in Tescos as they are making it hard for small shops :confused:

    I dont care who is on the list as long as its fair and represents the cheapest companys which it does not.

    Maybe i am missing the point of this site, i thought it was for the consumer and money saving :confused:

    A more useful vote might be wether to ban Creditcrunchy and his cleverly worded posts that attempt to argue black is white before someone is mislead by him.

    Am I really trying to argue black is white or am I making a valid point. Below is a direct comparison between the recommendations of ArmitageShanks & Creditcrunchy. Judge for yourself.

    ARMITAGESHANKS RECOMMENDATIONS

    FreightSearch = £7.92 for DHL 1-3 day with £100 insurance
    120cm max length, 15kg max weight, 0.22 meters max volume

    payperparcel = £7.99 for DHL 1-3 day with £100 insurance, printer required
    120cm max length, 30kg max weight, 0.17 cubic meters max volume

    Parcel Machine = £9.19 for DHL 1-2 day with £50 insurance
    120cm max length, 30kg max weight, 0.18 cubic meters max volume

    Parcel Broker= £9.19 for DHL 1-2 day with £50 insurance
    120cm max length, 30kg max weight, 0.18 cubic meters max volume

    Express Packages = £9.49 for DHL 1-2 day with £50 insurance
    120cm max length, 30kg max weight, 0.18 cubic meters max volume

    Freightsearch have the cheapest standard rate but only for parcels less than 15kg. The insurance they offer may not be valid so be careful.

    CREDITCRUNCHY RECOMMENDATIONS
    [FONT=&quot]
    parcel2go = £7.81 for DHL 1-3 day with £50 insurance, printer required
    100cm max length, 25kg max weight, 0.14 cubic meters max volume
    price for same day collection is £8.04, above price if you book 1 day in advance.

    payperparcel = £7.99 for DHL 1-3 day with £100 insurance, printer required
    120cm max length, 30kg max weight, 0.17 cubic meters max volume

    p4d = £8.04 for DHL 1-2 day with £50 insurance,
    120cm max length, 30kg max weight, 0.18 cubic meters max volume

    shippingmanager = £8.04 for DHL 1-2 day with £50 insurance,
    120cm max length, 30kg max weight, 0.18 cubic meters max volume

    interparcel = £8.04 for UPS 1-2 day with £50 insurance,
    250cm max length, 30kg max weight, 0.14 cubic meters max volume, printer required

    parcelcheap = £9.50 for DPD next day with £100 insurance,
    200cm max length, 30kg max weight, 0.5 cubic meters max volume

    www.parcel2go.com have the cheapest standard rate with a DHL 1-3 day service if you book 1 day in advance. The cheapest for same day collection is payperparcel. You have to print labels to use the parcel2go & payperparcel service. Shippingmanager offer a 2.5% discount if you pay by bank transfer so that would make the price £7.84. Parcelcheap use next day DPD & except parcels up to 200cm in length & a max volume of 0.5 cubic meters. Payperparcel except parcels with a length greater than 120cm but the price increases to £15.97.

    If you compare like with like for an average sized large parcel :
    Freightsearch 15kg £100 insurance 2 day service £6.89 plus vat total £7.92

    Parcel2go 15kg £50 insurance 2 day service £8.99 plus 31p fuel surcharge plus vat plus £2.50 insurance to give £100 £13.20 total

    Yet somehow Parcel2go is your best recommendation.
  • I would recommend UPS - they are always delivering stuff to me that i have bought online, and I've not yet had a problem.
  • Please don't miss the point Kayster. I don't disagree that Freightsearch offer good value for a parcel under 15kg. The reason I don't list them on my recommendations is because they didn't offer me insurance when DHL lost my parcel. The price will depend on your dimensions, volume & insurance required so that's why I have taken the time to show what each company allows for the standard service. Take away Freightsearch from ArmitageShanks recommendation then maybe you can see my point.
  • Whats The Best Courier To Use To Ship A Pushchair? thank you :)
  • Oh dear Armi, who've you !!!!ed off this time? :rotfl:

    fwiw, if this is about P2Go, he's prolly right. I was here about to point out their prices, just to notice they've now upped them to £6.99+vat again (although their site's still advertising £6.79 in places) :p.

    although where are interparcel in the main uk list? They're still £6.99 + vat (5% discount for mee :D + quidco ) aren't they? better than some of the others up there.

    You are wrong!!!

    Parcel2go are not the cheapest nor Shippingmanager. Their services are not even better.

    For same day collection Interparcel with UPS economy are the cheapest if you book through Quidco, as you can get 5% dicsount. It comes to £7.63 inc. VAT in total. :D

    Another advantage is late cut off time - 01.30 for my post code and maximum parcel dimensions for the parcels I'm sending 2mx0.3mx0.3m parcels, I don't think DHL can compete on this one. Plus delivery time is 1-2 days unlike Parcel2go 1-3 days. Unlike other resellers they offer Customer Service over the telephone. I never had any problems with claims for the goods which were previously damaged by TNT couriers and Louisa was always very helpful. You can pay through PayPal or with your Credit or Debit card as well. Although when using PayPal there is an additional 2% fee added to the final price.

    So please review your recommendations crunchy!
