Olive Oyls 12-month Countdown

Oh Olive, what a rotten evening for you - what will you do, call a plumber out or get a friendly neighbour to pop round tomorrow? If I-T was any good at plumbing I'd ask him to pop round but a) he's no good at any kind of DIY and b) he's still in hospital .
He is still losing a lot of blood through his drain in his side so the Docs want to keep him until that has stopped, and he has come out in an itchy rash all over his body - he looks like he has been out in the hot sun for a few days!!! I put some cream on his back to try and soothe it earlier and the heat that was coming out of him could've fried an egg!!! But he's cheerful enough yet desperate for a good nights sleep as last night there were 3 snorers in his bay who kept him awake :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:.Christians Against Poverty - www.capuk.org0 -
I think tomorrow I should be able to tighten all the plastic joints. I'll enlist DS2 to hold bits firm so that tightening one doesn't loosen the rest. There are wrench's etc in Popeyes tool box.
I-T has a bit of a plumbing issue himself then?Glad that he feels cheerful, he'll need it if he's surrounded by snorers........

If i didn't know that you are on the otherside of the country i would swear Mr.B was in the same bay:eek: Hope he gets on the mend soon MOT.
Olive you probably need to drain out the dishwasher by laying outlet pipe down flat..preferably out of the back door or into a bucket.Have you turned off the water to the machine?( don't lose the little rubber seal)
Then unscrew the water pipes attached to the dishwasher. If you have some of that plumbers tape stuff, wind it around the ends and rescrew on..it will be water tight.
If it is the pipes these are easily dismantled and flushed out if there is a blockage. Most of them either screw back together or ar a push- fit type of joint.
Edit to say with screw ones you can use the tape again and check you have the rubber seal in place, these can get worn and will leak if they go.Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

Thanks BoB, I've removed the pipes and washed them (yeuch
) and Popeye says he has some poofty tape
somewhere
(who tidied up his tools? ) it is just a case of reassembly - which Popeye says is a horrible job. As fast as you tighten A, B becomes loose, then C, D, and K.....I may be here some time.
I've promised myself that if I can repair the plumbing AND I sell the piano this morning then I deserve to take my vouchers shopping this afternoon0 -

But of course:D :rotfl: It is an easy job really, so long as you get the right bits in and make sure you don't forget to put the rubber bits back in place like i did last year and have to unscrew it all again:rolleyes: Still under my sink looks great now ( i had to show Elantan when she visited:rotfl: )And the pufty plumber didn't fix it proper when i had my sink re done after water leak a couple of years ago. Didn't re line up the pipes and just used the older ones..tooossserrr:mad:Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

As well as plumbing today
I have updated my signature
We had a blip last month, but we're back on track
Flights are paid for........................except...............
Popeye may be giving a paper in the Far East in June, 2 days after his week in London. His company would pay his flights from London-Far East -Africa, so we could take me tooWe'd only need to buy one way for me, as his company would pay the charges to re-route him, and pay us back the single flight we have already paid for
I've never been there before
So plumbing  Money :j -that's a change from before MSE! :rotfl:0 -

And he was paid  how much? I think I remember you going through that.
Today I am mostly being helped by the cat.........NOT :rotfl:0 -

The insurance company paid him..and plumbing started playing up four months later:mad: I couldn't figure it out at first as everything seemed water tight yet the minute i put on the tap (unless it was on a trickle) it would back up and overflow from one of the pipes.
I figured that it was a pressure thing and as i knew that the pipe wasn't blocked, i measured it..found that where the pipe goes at a 90 degree angle, that it went too far in so water wasn't able to flow around the bend, (as gap too small for high pressure)..so it backed up. Once measured, cut and re fitted ( touch wood) no problems since.
Mr.B has been fixed the same way, but by a surgeon:o  :rotfl:Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
