Its true! Its hard running a normal size house with one person!
I agree with you and KC, it is harder to run a family home on your own - I'm looking around mine and see piles of stuff that need freecycling and the fact that the housework hasn't been done for two weeks due to busy weekends, and we're away this weekend too for a family get together in Shropshire so no housework to be done then  . And don't get me started on the garden! That needs some TLC and I really must find the time (and energy) to get out there and cut the roses back, there is a fuschia bush that needs moving very soon otherwise no-one will able to get in the front door when it starts to grow!
Work is going well and I am settling in and starting to get into a routine :jeveryone is so nice and helpful too.
Went to see Orthapaedic Consultant at SACH week before last and I have to have an MRI scan on my back and hip on April 7th  Don't how I will cope with that as I can't lie on my back!!
DS is in play at school tonight so hope to be able to stay awake as have been up since 4.50am - back playing up.
Oh, and the boiler packed up completely on Saturday morning - no heating or hot water since then  have had to go to IT's for showers at weekend and Dad's yesterday.
It is such a bloomin' nuisance having no hot water!!Christians Against Poverty - www.capuk.org0 -
dont know how people do it on their own!!!!!
we are in the same position with the baby, only getting things done when both of us are here, for 3 or 4 days i just have to look at things which is so annoying!!!
so if your on your own with young kids....
hay in 5/6 yrs time they will be old enough to help clean up the last 10yrs mess

oh MoT ((()))
I remember the 9 years I had as a single Mum and when it goes right you are flying but when it goes wrong, a fuschia bush getting out of my control would have reduced me to tears
When I think back to that time, it helps me to realise how much easier it is to run the home without the childrenEven now
It's probably my fault (it is always the mothers fault) but DS1 turned up briefly at the weekend and I was grateful to see him.
He's gone and I've cleaned up the car washing stuff (Popeye would not be impressed to come back to a slimy chamois) and he's left a "collect from the post office" card, but hasn't actually asked me to go........ And he gazed at the heap of stuff in his room and agreed it could go in the loft, but left it for me..... Popeye asked him when he left to keep an eye on me and help out in a manly manner occasionally. But he has done less than nothing in the 18 months, in fact I've cleared up after him everytime he's visited instead.
I kind of dream that these young men would pop home and do a few jobs for their poor old Mum.I feel like I've failed, I look so capable that they don't think I need help. DS2 however has insulated his gf's mums house
he obviously doesn't need to impress me.:o
Last night another hour trying to break up a pallet and failing (3 planks liberated :rotfl: ) So I've sent off for a raised bed kit that was on offer through the Telegraph (as discovered on the green fingered forum), well I've asked F-I-L for the coupon, and Popeye can finish the other bed......:D
In the meantime I need to:- cut back the brambles
- prune the fruit bushes
- continue ignoring the apple trees that also need a prune
- weed the herb garden

Yeah, have to say housework is way down my list of priorities due to lack of energy

Well after a fabby evening in the West End, it is def. down with a bump into Suburbia for moi tonight!! :rotfl:
Lodgers birthday and she has been well stitched up. I felt sorry for her, so we went to the local Wetherspoons and got a meal deal
When you've been cooking from scratch, these commercial meals are salty and otherwise tasteless :rotfl:
Do you know what? MSE makes your standards so bleeding high, nothing is worth eating out except the ethnic eateries and the poshest of places :rotfl: MSG so doesn't rock :rotfl:0 -
