Dear Olive - you've been terrific for them, again and it took you away from the Absent Muse. I wouldn't be surprised if this departure on your part gave her the huff and brought her right back into the forefront of your mind. Do hope so....

    So do I :o

    Back...........yawn.............from first day at............yawn...............work..........yawn!

It was good, just form filling in, meeting colleagues and a tour of the unit. Training tomorrow at another unit so will know more about my job then, but it doesn't sound too taxing, in fact my Line Manager makes it sound a bit of a cushy number but we'll see ;)

The patients mainly have dementia so patience is obviously a virtue when dealing with them - poor things.

Colleagues seem really friendly although its a bit confusing cos there is already a Julia, a Julie and now me :D so I shall be known as Jules!

Have just had an hour's nap on settee, couldn't keep eyes open!

    Hope everyone is well xx

Day 2 now, and you've got to go to work again :rotfl: I hope the novelty never wears off :D

I didn't paint last night, but I did do some batch cooking so our meals this week are sorted. And I'm manageing to avoid the supermarket too - every little helps.

However the list making is working to concentrate the mind and Popeye should notice the difference when he visits in 4 weeks time :j Since he was last here:
    1. We have a shed, with all his tools tidy (ish) in there - which emptied the sitting room.
    2. I'll have finished decorating DS2's room, which will re-empty the sitting room which is currently stuffed with furniture
    3. There is a set of decorative hooks in our bedroom (VERY girlish ;) ) which tidy up my dressing table & an awful lot of stuff has gone to the charity shop so the place is tidy.
    4. I will have painted the cupboard doors in the bathroom - which means that roomn is FINISHED :D
    5. The patio is clear of bits of furniture, leaves, broken pots and etc
    6. We have acquired a lodger.......which means a slight sleeping problem at Easter when everybody comes home :o DS2 may be sleeping in the now clear sitting room :rotfl:
The list of achievements has made me feel better, though Popeye hasn't been home since November so things should have moved on.....

Well done Olive :T you are doing really well! Its brilliant that you have Popeye's homecoming to look forward to and to motivate you.

Yes, 2nd day - but something different, I should actually get to know what my job really entails today!

Give a few weeks and I'll be dragging myself out of bed in the mornings with that 'oh, no not work again, why isn't it Saturday?' feeling :rotfl::rotfl:

Oh, and just could not get to sleep last night and got up again at 11.45am came on here til 1.00am  dropped off a treat though when I went back to bed and woke at 6.50am :D

Olive, mumoftwins - what inspirational posts! Lovely to read - I'm puttering at decluttering and decorating the kitchen, and I do enjoy seeing the results of even the little bits I do. How wonderful to get whole rooms done. How wonderful to start a new job and feel its do-able. Lovely!

Karma, DS2 emptied his room (into the sitting room  ) so that a carpet could be fitted. It is the easiest I've ever had it to decorate a room. I'm quite looking forward to Saturday (I'm sad) :D

2nd day has been great :j the job has a lot more to it than I have been led to believe which is fab! The lady I was 'shadowing' is very experienced and really nice, so apart from getting lost on the way there, I've had a good day :D

    How's everyone else today?
