He thinks I'm obsessed (about DFW) though :o

We all are Olive..obsessed with DFW that is:rotfl:

    Morning All :hello:
I'll be off later to visit aged P's :D and I'll be driving in the most fuel miserly manner and using my Dart Tag to get the crossing cheaper :D

Pa particularly wants my advice on
    1. a new computer
    2. a new mobile
    3. a new gardener
If things aren't simple to use the first time, then he wants to change it, and he has the money to do so. :o The computer is only used for a little shopping, e-mailing and solitaire. But it keeps giving him error messages  so has to go. Similar story with the phone, and as for the gardener, he's forgotten that it took him months to find someone reliable, so if the gardener doesn't do what he asks, I think he needs to talk to him, not bin him ;) So wish me luck - Pa always accuses me of trying to save my inheritance if I dissuade him from buying something :rotfl: (Truth is, he does what he likes, no matter what I say, but I feel obliged to offer him alternatives)

Oh the difficulties of being bored, and well off, but physically limited :D

    only if I'm there ;)

Do you think scratch mitts would be better than a piano then

    Hello!

Oh the difficulties of being bored, and well off, but physically limited :D

Thats my mum you're talking about ! :rotfl: I'm the one who takes care of her money, and she asked me why I wanted to do a survey of what was where (usually I've left it to her to ask me to do it) - from her expression, I *know* she expected me to say I wanted to borrow some money. Truth is, every time she mentioned money she was saying to me "I don't care how much I've got left, I just want to spend it (it wasn't on bad stuff, it was house maintenance, and a Senior Railcard, for instance) - but she got me worried! She was fine, btw, financially - I'm glad your aged Ps are too, OO. Hope the journey today isn't too bad.

Dartford Crossing costs £1.50 each way
A prepaid scheme, where you have a computer chip (? ) thingy (The Dart Tag) in your car makes the cost £1.00 each way (still  but better). As I go so often it's worth me paying £10 in advance (2 1/2 months worth) to save £5.00 :D

And I'm safely back, driving in a miserly manner meant that I only over took a couple of vehicles on the whole journey :rotfl: :rotfl:

Had a lovely time, they were SO pleased to see me, and embarrassingly grateful that I'd managed to carve out a good chunk of time for them. Siblings tend to either fly in and out or are doing something for them (neither is a problem) so to have someone who could sit and chat, watch TV with them etc was a pleasant change.

And I didn't let him pay for my paint, so I feel less shabby even if £30 poorer :rotfl: But we did get almost all of the items on his list.

Today I have done some of their gardening, planted a tree "that's FAR too close to the fence" pruned another tree "If we get any fruit this year that will be a miracle" and moved a rose "that's an awful rose, if it doesn't survive that'll be fine". So they have great faith in my gardening skills :rotfl:

The big successes though? They're not buying another phone or another computer and the gardeners job is safe for now. (Imagine how terrible their garden would be if they had to rely on me?) :D
