  • I'm getting tired just reading about all this running! :rotfl:

    Have a little lie-down my dear :p
my resolutions are in my siggy... if you have them showing, basically to run twice a week, swim twice a week... not spend money on clothes as have plenty, save 50ps in sealed pot, and finish my studies... sounds simple!

i am such a slow swimmer, all the oldies beat me every time, so i just focus on the bottom of the pool, and that's with my new super speedy swimming abilities! i was truly truly pants before... if i could swim well, i would be there more often!

i know what you mean about coming back to work, i was off right thru and erin was seldom away from me, TBH, by the end i was needing time to myself, and sad as it seems, i get that when i'm at work moreso!

re the resigning thing, if you think you could manage i think you would be happier, certainly a lot of your problems stem from wanting to be in two places at once..... when does Elliot get his funded place, ages away i guess?
 uh... I do have siggies on... pass the dunce hat, someone? Your halo will be positively blinding if you keep those up, and I've no doubt that you can!

Elliot is only 15 months - so 19 months to go  that IS a good point though, thinking long term - see below!
    DD,
So good to see you sweetheart-was missing you.

Re. job thing-why not do a pro's and cons list (and let us peruse, lol)

But I think in the long you need to do what makes you happy hunny.

(and don't go missing again-I miss yooooooooou!)

:kisses3: bunny you are sweet :) I feel all warm and glowy now! I won't go anywhere, I promise

    Right, a brief list
    pros (of resigning)
    - not enjoying my job that much
    - more time with Elliot
    - more time to run the house really, esp if OH has a long commute, less chaos
    - there will be free nursery hours next year - yes it's a way off but this whole thing is about the long-term

    cons
    - possibly boredom - I found mat. leave isolating but I have a car now - I don't have many friends and those I do have are all a bit of distance away (10+ miles, some 30!) but at least I can get out to see them
    - I love Elliot more than I ever ever ever thought you could love someone and he is just a joy to be around, he is (mostly) very happy and funny and I really do treasure time with him - but ... but ... I will admit that I'm not perfect and do find myself fed up now and then as obviously at this age he's not a great communicator - no words yet... basically would I struggle with the day-to-day stresses? I feel sad just typing that, and am probably inviting attacks from trolls
    - not fond of the baby group scene, would Elliot get fed up of just me and the odd visit to a friend's house?
    - I must admit I'm rather enjoying having my own money, BUT that said OH gives me full control of ALL our money and I would never have to ask to put petrol in the car or buy a new top or something for Elliot etc - but still putting my own money in the pot does feel good

hmmm not looking great is it

also I am due to start an OU course next month
    would I even have time?

  • Oh god sorry for waffling on :embarasse

who else is doing Paul McKenna??? I listened to the CD twice yesterday. At lunch today I went to Pret for a coffee (freezing office) and a tuna sandwich and carrot cake, and an apple. I ate the sandwich and am not interested in the rest  is it working?

    how's charlie boy today?

He's fine :D . Spark out asleep laying next to me. Hopefully not too many nightmares last night for him about the strange man and where he put the thermometer yesterday! :rotfl:

I think he will be glad to get home for a decent sleep. Every time he drops off, I get up and he is like a little shadow, following me everywhere. He is managing 40 winks at the moment as I've been working solidly sat here for the last hour or so.

  • I did briefly consider signing up for my local half - as a council employee I get a reduced fee and they have 16 week training programmes - but I'd pass out at best and have major injuries at worst, wouldn't I?

    Right, a brief list
    pros (of resigning)
    - not enjoying my job that much - can this be changed? a whole other issue but what can you address there?
    - more time with Elliot - important, esp if OH is away.
    - more time to run the house really, esp if OH has a long commute, less chaos - true, or you can carry on and get a cleaner.. (do you have already?)
    - there will be free nursery hours next year - yes it's a way off but this whole thing is about the long-term

    cons
    - possibly boredom - I found mat. leave isolating but I have a car now - I don't have many friends and those I do have are all a bit of distance away (10+ miles, some 30!) but at least I can get out to see them - have car will travel! so liberating innit!?
    - I love Elliot more than I ever ever ever thought you could love someone and he is just a joy to be around, he is (mostly) very happy and funny and I really do treasure time with him - but ... but ... I will admit that I'm not perfect and do find myself fed up now and then as obviously at this age he's not a great communicator - no words yet... basically would I struggle with the day-to-day stresses? I feel sad just typing that, and am probably inviting attacks from trolls - elliot will get more and more communicative with each month that passes, so that issue will dissolve away.... (i joke with erin now that when she was wee i wanted her to walk and talk so quickly, now i just want her to sit on her aarse and shut up!!) (trolls can have that one for free!!)
    - not fond of the baby group scene, would Elliot get fed up of just me and the odd visit to a friend's house? - nope, every day is a new adventure for kids, they don't do bored, as they don't really remember what they did yesterday...
    - I must admit I'm rather enjoying having my own money, BUT that said OH gives me full control of ALL our money and I would never have to ask to put petrol in the car or buy a new top or something for Elliot etc - but still putting my own money in the pot does feel good -i can relate, again, but it's more a question of is there enough in the pot, not who put it there. Saying that i know putting something in would be important, so maybe you can work virtually in some way... freelance?

hmmm not looking great is it

also I am due to start an OU course next month
would I even have time? - if you stopped work yes, if you carry on, i think it'll be another pressure. are work funding it?

my thoughts above... probably not helpful but i'd err on side of stopping or cutting back, IF you can afford it.

edit- not saying that you should, but that's my leanings from the above........!

Until Saturday. Ex gets back Saturday afternoon, but I've asked him to text me when he lands/gets on the coach from Gatwich just in case his flight is delayed.

Maz - I don't mind him going home. I think he might be a bit bored here as he sits across the top of an armchair at home watching the world go by and there isn't a way for him to do that - he likes to know what is going on outside! I still get to see him each day even when he goes home, which is fine. It has been nice to have lots of snuggles though whenever I want to.

He is snoring at the moment - typical male! :rotfl:
