This compny had liqudation written all over it. We ordered 1500 quid worth of furniture in Jan...nothing. Started calling and emailing...nothing. Eventually last week (after reading all these posts) I drove to the showroom 3 TIMES. There was a jumped up little bloke there called peter who claimed to be a director who was telling me they were "waiting for the ship". There was also another pregnant woman there and we were both trying to get a refund....he wouldn't give us one. He was shouting at me (my baby is due next week) and was thoroughly unpleasant. Finally I got my other half to drive with me at 8am on monday. Totally different attitude from this Peter. He processed a refund withut a complaint. It hit my account on Wednesday. Thank God. I've just seen the liquidation post on the website. I hope there is no way they can take the money off me again..I don't really inderstand this Protex payment system. I really hope everyone who is owed money manages to get something back. Its an absolute disgrace. And if Peter is reading this (because he told me he did) you really need a lesson in cusotmer service and the art of giving BS.0

Do NOT attempt to buy anything from this company, either by Amazon.co.uk, Biz Rate, or any of the many other companies that they used to sell through -- you will most likely NOT get your products.
They are in liquidation. As of today, 27 Feb 09, the company handling their liquidation (whom I just got off the phone with) is sending people to the warehouse to catalog what is actually in stock. If your order is actually on the warehouse floor and they can identify it, they will try to send it to you. But if it is not in stock (and most orders will not be) nothing will be sent to you, you will have to contact your credit card company to file for reimbursement and go through the entire process.
I am furious with Amazon.co.uk, who will not listen to me when I tell them that one of their 3rd party sellers has gone into liquidation and is no longer trading, so why are they still taking orders for them? I only get quoted the chapter and verse of, "Well the payment went through and a delivery date has been established, so you must please call us back in 4 weeks when your order does not arrive... etc... blah blah...." -- yeah, but my baby is due in 3 weeks, so what am I supposed to take her home in? They don't care.
Beware Amazon and other companies are STILL taking orders for this company even though they are no longer trading. You will be caught in a bad loop, your money tied up for weeks to months, and you will not get your items.
Hopefully, some of us who ordered weeks ago will get them, but no new people will, as there just is nothing new coming in to the warehouse.
The liquidators can be emailed at 'jbleazard@xlbs.co.uk' -- they are very helpful, and have been inundated with calls about this all day. All they can do is go to the warehouse and check what is there.0 -
This is totally ridiculous!!! How can they get away with doing this! They obviously knew at the time of taking our order that they were not going to be able to deliver yet still took our money. As if pregnany mothers can afford to pay this expense again. I only just managed to afford the £160 for the carseat to start with never mind having to pay it out again  I knew we were not going to receive this in the end, they just kept trying to fob people off with ''you will receive your order by next week...blah blah blah''!!!! We now have nothing to bring our baby home from hospital in, in a few weeks. As if expectant mothers aren't stressed enough without people like this ripping us off!! Feel so sorry for those who have spent so much more than us, as we will struggle to pay out the money again, especially since we will have to have the carseat within the next two weeks:( Absolute A**holes preying on the vulnerable!0

Not just yesterday -- they are still taking orders right now! Amazon is still taking orders for them. As is edirectory.co.uk. Basically, these are front companies that take payment and just put the order through to Bebe Amor as a third party seller. But BA has not informed them they are out of business, so Amazon etc just keep taking people's money.
I spoke to Amazon on the phone 5 times today -- and each time I ended the call with, "And are you going to inform a supervisor or someone who can stop allowing customers to pay for items to a company that no longer exists?" -- Answer, no.
Amazon should be ashamed, basically. At least the people at Edirectory.co.uk said they were unaware of it, thanked me, and said an email would be sent to the relevant person to look into it.
Just shameful.0 -
I don't believe it, I've been fighting for my money back since December 2008 and it cleared 2 days ago (back in my bank account) someone was definitley on my side with this one.
The Bull S*** we were being fed on the phone that they have lots of happy customers and our payment had been put through to protx that minute. When I rang protx they couldn't see it on their account, went back to BA who said they would ring protx while I was on the phone and put me on hold, came back and said it was done, I rang protx back who asked when I was told that which was 5 mins previously, protx checked again and said they had received payment 7 mins ago.
The actions of this company definitley showed cash flow problems.
Good luck to you all who are still chasing, I wish you well.0 -
The website at least is now closed I suppose0

Old promotional piece from the HUddersfield Examiner, which seems to be the local paper.
This is probably the paper to keep an eye on for more news.0 -

I paid for a Quinny buzz package and thought was too good to be true!!
and yes it was - they dont have stock as advertised and I double checked on the phone.
Eventually got to speak to someone on the phone after numerous attempts..
Still waiting for a refund...
very dissapointing ...
I would recommend anyone who has purchsed call a chargeback via their credit card company.
Bambino Direct are exactley the same.. I have had exactley the same problem and eventually sourced a Quinny locally so trying to save a couple of quid ..
I have paid out three time over now for this pram and not to mention the STRESS...
:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:
Bambino direct is ALSO based in Huddersfield and gets very similar reviews
