The website at least is now closed I suppose

Yes, and also they seem to have finally shut down their Amazon ordering (or maybe Amazon wised up and shut them down) -- so at least no more people can be suckered into paying out their money.
  • Ive just been on the website again to look for the telephone no. to try and get some answers on where my order is and there is now no website just the address of the people dealing with the liquidation. I have spent £185 on a carseat which I really can't afford to lose and very upset! Don't know where I stand as I paid by debit card not credit card. I would have asked for a refund straight away instead of waiting the 7-10 days which they advised me to. I feel for everyone else waiting for items as by the looks of things no-ones getting anything!!
  • The address of the liquidators is posted on their website, I paid them £1300 for a Silver Cross Pram and Car seat and a complete nursery furniture set, the pram arrived almost immediately but the furniture hasnt arrived despite being ordered weeks before the pram. All we can do is apply to the liquidators and go on the creditors list i think....

Sorry to read about this and for anyone who has lost money.

Also sorry for the staff who probably knew nothing about it and have lost their jobs (and probably, like me with Blooming Marvellous, have no monthly pay, redundancy pay etc). Believe me, only the top management would have known about it going bust and the bottom line staff would more than likely have not been told.
  • I found out last night that my friend has been having trouble with Bebe Amor. She placed an order in January and has had difficulties contacting them for updates on delivery, etc. Her husband spoke to Trading Standards last week who told him to send a letter by recorded delivery to the company which they did. Obviously, the company has since gone into liquidation so a letter requesting delivery or a refund is pretty much useless now.

Unfortunately, I will have to go and see them later to break the bad news. At least they are only out of pocket by just over £100. Reading this thread, I can see that many people have paid much more than this.

I've just put it down to experience and will never ever buy anything on my debit card again. I will always use a credit card in future.
Fortunately, we've only lost £240, it could have been a lot worse. I have just re-ordered the items I wanted from Mothercare, never again will I deal with small web based traders, I'll only ever use large multiple retailers in future. (at least you hear when they're about to run into trouble)
I only hope Mr Green (Who was a director with bebe amor) and runs 2 other companies, has lost all of his other business interests too, because frankly, the way he has carried on, is nothing much short of theft.
Somehow I doubt he will have to pay much at all, and he'll carry on trading under some other name, ripping many others off too.

It has made me realise there is an opening for a web based store selling items at a reasonable price but with great customer service too.
Two left feet seem attrocius too, are there any good independent baby stuff retailers out there?

Basic business accumen and an ability to deal with customers and suppliers, surely thats a winning combination?
However, taking money, not sending goods and then not answering the phone nor replying to emails isn't ever going to be part of a succesful business plan is it?
