  • Initially we were working on the basis of OH's 'spare' cash going to the deposit pot, but having worked the £405 figure into our monthly calcs, it was a bit tight. So now he's paying his 'spare' into a savings account (to get the interest) and paying a lump sum off at the end of the year.

So if we're both looking to move at about the same time, we can give each other support! Particularly as we're both living at parents at the moment and have been with our OH's for ages (although OH and I split for 6 years then got back together)

  • six years...wow! We split up for only 3 weeks but it was very turbulent, wouldnt have thought we'd still be together now! We've been together 7 years so moving back to mums and living apart will be extremely odd! Saving grace is the xbox live so we can both speak to each other every night without racking up a phone bill lol. Just have to get used to living with Mum again lol. But at least it's only a 15 minute bus ride to work, no more tube...woohoo!

Yes, definetly I will be here for support, as it looks like if all goes to plan we should both be moving out in a years time!

I like the idea of paying extra in a lump sum...i might actually see if I can find a high interest account and put my spare cash (whats left after bills and savings) into that to pay off the car :)

  • Just told OH the news about non-redundancy and he's thrilled. Also, opened my bag to get my purse out for lunch and found my sister had put a home-made lemon muffin in my bag to cheer me up. Bless. Aren't families great?

  • Cake was very nice. Pancakes to look forward to tonight too. Then on Friday I'm paying the remainder of my holiday. Happy days.

  • My amazon sales seem to have dried right up, unfortunately.

To think, this time last year, I was paying out left right & centre for our BIG summer holiday. This year, I'm putting money aside to pay for my holiday in the UK outright.

    How the times change!

  • Grrr.

For reasons unknown to me at this moment in time, I decided to give up chocolate for lent. Not even a week in and I'm struggling.

  • Reluctantly shifted some money from the house deposit fund to pay off my capital one card. BUT it is now 86 days until I am debt free... then the house fund will soar!
