I'm "embellishing" my CV this evening to focus on what relevant experience I have.:think:Don't worry about typing out my username - Call me COMP(Unless you know my real name - in which case, feel free to use that just to confuse people!)0 -
Today is the day of reckoning. I should find out if I've got the internal transfer. I'm not too hopeful though.Don't worry about typing out my username - Call me COMP(Unless you know my real name - in which case, feel free to use that just to confuse people!)0

Don't you just hate it when you go through the process, submit your CV, have an interview and they say to you "we'll let you know by 6th Feb" then on 6th they say "we'll come back to you on Monday". Monday comes and goes as does Tuesday. Then late on Wednesday night you get an email saying that the person who is currently doing the job "is now available to stay in the role until the end of the year" and they will advise you on the status of your application in due course.
WHY DO PEOPLE F#@K YOU AROUND? THERE IS EITHER A JOB OR THERE ISN'T. PEOPLE SHOULDN'T JUST BE ALLOWED TO CHANGE THEIR MINDS.
On top of that I'm having a really bad day and I'm seriously considering jacking it all in. But if I did that, I don't know what job I could do. I've been in tears at work today on the phone to my dad because one of my projects is going wrong. I just don't see an end to it.

Hey...
Just wanted to say, you're doing really well, dont give up. I'm not going to say to you to not get worried about your job or whatever, I'm in the same position and I know that as much as anyone tells you not to be worried, you cant help it. on the other hand, just dont let it try to bother you toooooooo much, as it will affect your performance and at times like these you need to be on top things. Also, dont feel bad about saving while in debt. I've literally only just started saving yesterday (lol), and i'm trying to clear my debts at the same time. It may seem strange, but with the economy like it is, you need to have something stashed away for the rainy day that seems to be looming over every one at the minute!
anyway, good luck, i'll be subscribing to your thread
if you ever need a chat or whatever let me know. Everyone on here is so lovely and supportive, dont feel like you're alone. I dont

Hi I cant really offer u any advice but I just wanted to say Please dont give up on yourself or your job if u jack it all in then u will be back to square one and thats the last thing u want. I know u have had a really bad day but things will look brighter tomorrow go home tonight and have a relaxing glass of wine with your OH if u can and dont dwell on the bad news there will be other chances that will come along eventually I know it doesnt feel that way at the moment but things really will get better I hope u feel better soon and try to keep your chin up.

That's just it - it's ANOTHER bad day. I hate my job. Hate it. I've felt this way since about November. I only stay here because of my salary - if I quit I'd never find a job that pays like this one. I'll get home from work tonight (late as usual) and try and forget about it but I'll just end up logging in to work emails trying to right my wrongs. The Client on this particular project has already said that if the costs go disasterously wrong, she's willing to sue us.Don't worry about typing out my username - Call me COMP(Unless you know my real name - in which case, feel free to use that just to confuse people!)0

hey
I know it's easy to say, but not wanting to sound patronising, you need to calm down, stressing yourself out isnt going to help. Are thw wrongs actually yours? or are you taking the burden for someone elses mistakes?
I feel for you, it sounds like you're in the thick of it at the moment. i guess moving jobs (companies) isnt really an option?
Sorry cant give practical advice, but an ear to moan in is the next best thing!
Take care

Since this project began, I've been doing all of the work on the job with minimal input from my line manager. So if it's underestimated it's largely my fault (although technically, my manager should have been supervising me more but that's neither here nor there).
I'm my own worst enemy - someone challenges my figures and I just crumble and assume I'm wrong.
Moving companies is not an option. I work in construction and the jobs have dried up. It doesn't help that my dad also works/worked in the same field and he is/was really good at his job.Don't worry about typing out my username - Call me COMP(Unless you know my real name - in which case, feel free to use that just to confuse people!)0
