You're welcome. If you'd like to read back through older challenges, which are chock full of help and advice, you can find them all listed in the "Monthly Challenges" link in the blue bar at the top of the page :)

  • This is my first month too. My month goes from 25 Jan to 25 Feb when my DH get paid again. Since Christmas I have done a meal plan and shopped every two weeks spending about £75 plus fresh stuff in between. I used to spend about £60 each week for us and our two boys of 10 and 7.

My bill at Morrisons on 25/1 was £72 and I have £90 left to last us until 25 Feb. I really need to be good because we want to get our overdraft down as much as we can this month - hopefully to about £150. I shop at Morrisons (as well as working there) I have tried Aldi but couldn't get on with it though lots of people seem to like it. :o
  • I really want to give this a go ..bit feel everything is staked against me -especially this month.I usually spend about £110 per week 36_19_2.gif..this week £116.00. I have tried to stock up as I am going into hospital and wanted to leave DH plenty for the kids. I would like to start with getting the monthly shop down to £300 and then lower next month..I know all the right things but overshop every time. I have 2 freezers absolutely full to the brim-perhaps itwould be better to use the stock and then startet the challenge when its gone. I am super duper at money saving in everyway except the food shop .. I know I buy luxuries we do not need - even went to overeaters anonymous once! What can I do...I was thinking perhaps hypnotism might work ..lol !
I have had brain surgery - sorry if I am a little confused sometimes ;)

I'm in again too. Didn't do to well last month, not sure why as I meal planned. I did better when I bought in bulk at the begining of the month rather than buying weekly. So I have ordered my bulk stuff online(Sainsburys and Tesco)and will only have to buy fresh stuff on a weekly basis. Going to budget £280 for the month - 2 adults, 3 kids and 2 kittens.
  • Well I was completely rubbish at this last month set £500 and spent over £600 so I will say £550 this month so that I don't feel too disheartened. This is purely for grocery and cleaning stuff. Not petrol, pets or stuff kids need or medicines.

    My £2 saving is £32

My pin savings are about the same

and I have a whole pot of copper and 5p and 10p coins.

    So not all bad.

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker Mortgage-free Glee!
Ive never done the challenge before, but thought i would start this month. The last couple of months ive had the christmas shopping, then i bought up a lot of reduced meat to use in January, so they havnt been proper months, must admit, wont have to buy much meat in Feb, as still have quite a lot left, but wanted to give it a go. Thought i would see if i can get by on £35 a week, then i will be able to see if it is much more or less, and then in March i should be able to see what position i am in and if i have over or under estimated. Fingers crossed ive overestimated!!!!!!
    Going to start on Wednesday.
